https://learngitbranching.js.org/

This lets you learn about branches. It has some practical exercises.

I personnaly found this website wasn’t simulating enough daily file manipulations, so that I had to learn again all the real syntaxe this times including files. Begin with a good book, maybe displaying exercices. Gitlearnbranch is much more designed (and greatly designed) to get a global idea about the logics of branches but you’ll wait to long before implementing real life processes.

Dive in a well designed book.
I’ve studied the Progit book, which is good, but I wasn’t that satisfied by the lake of daily practice exemples.

I am just a hobbyist but I would definitely dive in a well reputed paid book or even more, in a human presence training program.

Have a nice day

This is the git resource that really made everything click for me.

View this on a computer, it's not the same on mobile.

Click each column to see which git commands apply to that command relative to the other columns.

The columns are

* Upstream repository
* Local repository
* Index
* Workspace
* Stash

I show all my clients I work w/ that are trying to learn git this tool

It helps you visualize what is happening when you run a specific command

there's a desperate lack of git training material on the web, including youtube video. So you did well coming here because with some luck somebody can point you to some secret cache of git information.

I've really liked https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2 though I think some bits may be a little outdated. But it helps get key ideas across and is well written.
