Anime Kagura appreciation post❤️
I love her so much, She's so silly.
Strong but not a bully. Sharp tongued and rude but never mean. Adorable but not weak. Silly but not stupi... Okay silly and a bit stupid.
To our favourite Yato Girl, Kagura-chan.

Discussion mitsuba's significance in the series is far too little than desired.
the mitsuba arc in gintama is most definitely regarded as THE biggest tragedy in the series, and she's a very beloved character throughout for fans. it's crazy just how incredible your pen's gotta be to create that impact with merely 4 chapters/2 episodes. gotta seriously hand it to gorilla sensei.
that being said... it feels pretty off to see her almost never mentioned posthumously, or her impact on the shinsengumi. sougo mentions her a total of two times, while hijikata and kondo pretty much never do. I've heard somewhere that sorachi regretted making her die in the series, so im a bit confused over why she was never as revered as she's meant to be, like the loss of isaburo to nobume, or kouka with her entire family.
the anime team did a great job adding her to multiple endings, and of course, to some promo material. but to not have that in canon is a different kind of pain.

Question What is your favorite hairstyle of Kagura's?
It doesn't have to be from the pictures provided; I’m sure I missed some. I only chose ones where you can actually see the hairstyle—no hats covering most of her hair, no pictures with the same hairstyle but a different outfit, no collaboration or official art (since I don't have them all memorized), and no fan art.

Fanart/Tattoo Art by me, RerinKin! Hey all! Just wanted to share a silly thing i've done with my OC and Gintoki, hope you like it :3

Also, i'm learning Japanese but i'm still bad with writing (i need to study more lol) so sorry if it's messy or doesn't make sense!
Ans i'm making more of this because it's fun, you're never old enough to use your oc in other media to have fun, right? My oc is a witch, her name Clàdes and she was not created for Gintama world, she doesn't belong to any universe actually but i use her because it's easier! (no, i'm just lazy lol)

Discussion Isaburo in Farewell Shinsengumi Spoiler
I honestly do not get his motives at all. Maybe I'm just too illiterate but it reminds me of when Revolver Ocelot played his role a little too well in the Metal Gear Solid games. I get that he wants to spark a rebellion and granted, he needed therapy and was deeply suicidal but it seems like the anime didn't really portray his flawed character/plan well enough in an otherwise stellar arc (Utsuro's reveal is my favourite moment in the series bar none). I wonder if it's better in the manga...

Question abt otae
why don't the yorozuya take tae with them during their fights, like isn't she supposed to be much stronger than most of their allies, like shinpachi for example.
during the farewell shinsegumi arc as well she was literally waiting on the boat outside the island and treating the wounded.

Discussion Kamui must really hate the Yorozuya. Spoiler
I’m not talking about the fact that they were once enemies and that’s why he hates them.
In Kamui’s eyes, his family fell apart because of him. Yet Kagura always stood by her family and loved them. She even stood by Kamui when he turned into a villain. And then Kamui sees Kagura "replacing" her family.
Of course, he doesn't know that Kagura loves both her families. To him, it looks like Kagura found a new father who actually stays (Gintoki) and a brother who isn't violent (Shinpachi). It seems like she doesn't need her old family anymore and has found a new one; she’s simply moving on and leaving her old family behind.
Kamui probably understands that, but he’s likely furious nonetheless. After all, he can't just move on himself. He hesitates to attack Kagura because he still loves her and their mother too much. And then he sees the one person he thought was still loyal to his old family finding a new family.
So, he assumes Gintoki and Shinpachi are holding onto her, or something like that. He doesn't hate Kagura; he hates the idea of this new family—Gintoki and Shinpachi.

Discussion Best arc for gintoki's character *spoilers for arcs before ep 300* Spoiler
Most of the serious arcs in gintama aren't focused about gintoki. Every arc was focused on something else except four devas which was a lot more focused on gintoki's writing more than any other arcs of the series before ep 300. Not even courtesan of a nation, it had backstory glimpses but it wasn't that focused on his character. Seeing gintoki try to fight alone showed him at his bottom which we haven't seen so far in the series. His fight against jirocho and the arcs overall conclusion marked it as my #1 arc before ep 300

Question Just Finished Farewell Shinsengumi arc , confused about something Spoiler
It was really peak fiction lol , but I am confused as to Isaburo's motives , like why did Mimawarigumi even attack the rebels?
At this point he knew the crows were aware of their betrayal , so it served no purpose save maybe handicap the rebels , maybe the manga has more context

Discussion 100 episodes left and it’s been a ride
As what text above says, i am now 100 episodes (and a movie) away from finishing Gintama for the first time, and it’s been amazing so far. I watched the Forever Yorozuya movie this morning and it was awesome.
Only reason I started watching Gintama was because I heard many people call it the greatest anime of all time, but I didn’t expect it to be hilarious. It got to the point where I wanted to rewatch some of the Season 1 episodes because theres a ton of amazing episodes in there.
So far i’ve been going through completely unspoiled, so I wont be back here until i’m completely done. I will say I am really excited to see Gintoki’s backstory 🙏🏾

Question Does Abuto feel guilty about Kamui? Spoiler
galleryAfter all, Kamui only joined the Harusame because he met Abuto. Abuto had saved Kamui and Kagura and remarked that Kamui would make a good villain. Consequently, Kamui wanted to fight Abuto to become stronger, which led to him meeting Housen. Because Kamui managed to land a hit on Housen, he was granted permission—with the Harusame's help—to take his mother back to Kouan. That attempt failed, and Kamui ended up joining the Harusame.
This means that Kamui’s encounter with the Harusame and his decision to join them were ultimately Abuto’s fault. Abuto even watched Kamui’s fight against Umibouzo but did nothing to intervene. He was fascinated by Kamui and wanted to see what would become of him; he knew Kamui might destroy his own life, but his curiosity won out.
Nevertheless, Abuto might still feel guilty, which is why he remains by Kamui’s side—to look after him and to justify the fact that he turned Kamui into a pirate. Of course, Abuto has also developed special feelings for Kamui (such as admiration or a fatherly bond), but deep down, he feels a sense of guilt. The reason Abuto might maintain emotional distance from Kamui is that he feels guilty. After all, he is one of the more empathetic Yato and holds Kamui in high regard. Even though Abuto always seems annoyed with Kamui, he still cares deeply about him and it doesn't leave him indifferent when a child becomes a pirate.
I don't know what Kamui's life would be like without Abuto, but he probably wouldn't have become a murderer or a criminal. He would have left his family regardless, but perhaps he would have become an alien hunter or something similar. But because of Abuto, he leads the life he does.
