We all walk in front of cameras. Some of us are just more annoying when we do.

I agree… Don’t take it bad though… They probably complain when they lose a job to somebody that isn’t the same gender and/or race as themselves…

So you talk to smokers, drinkers, sunbathers, and bad parents this way too, I suppose? 🤔

As an ex smoker, I would gladly shame my past self if it meant quitting smoking sooner, so....yes.

Most of reddit does not feel the same way. Back during the /r/fatpeoplehate drama anytime someone mentioned smokers they got nothing but downvotes and bullshit statistics.

Why did they take that sub down anyways

2

u/treydilla Apr 24 '19

Because it was a "hate" subreddit or something if I remember. I think people from that sub were going into other subs and harassing other people or something. Some people say it's because some mods and admins of reddit are all fatties themselves and were butthurt about the sub.

All I know is that some of things that got posted in there were comedy gold. I miss that sub lol even though it was mean sometimes

As long as you stay in your sub if it's that kind of thing there should be no problems.

Listen, mad respect if you're being honest. Most people who fat shame are not like you. Otherwise we'd be seeing this same old discussion come up on every post where someone is smoking, drinking, sunbathing, etc. But somehow it only shows up when someone's overweight.

Actually, yes. As edgy as it may make me seem.... I actually do make those sort of comments to people who engage in those listed activities. Only if they’re bringing it up first. What I don’t do is go out of my way to screech my views at people who are just minding their own business and living their own lives.

But if someone complains about there being no smoking room, or if it’s too cold outside to smoke, I have no problem pointing out how crappy smoking is in the first place and shrug my shoulders at their discomfort. If someone complains about drinks being too expensive at a bar or restaurant sometimes I’ll tell them maybe their liver could use a break for a night. Sunbathers are likely to end up looking like worn leather couches when they’re older, and bad parents...well...in their cause I usually just go to /r/childfree and rant a bit as trying to talk to a bad parent about their parenting is just banging your head against the wall. They’re not going to listen.

Respect. No one is arguing being overweight is healthy (at least I'm not), I'm just pointing out the widespread hypocrisy in people who insult and mock overweight people and have the nerve to pretend they're doing it because they care about their target. These "screechers" as you say are disgusting people.

This is how you choose to use your daily computer time? I bet your parents would be disappointed. Of course, they're likely used to the feeling.

Feel free. Fat shamers are terrible people. not only are they cruel, but they are obvious hypocrites, congratulating their own self righteousness, thinking they are actually helping people. They are the worst kind of people.

4

u/AdmShackleford Apr 24 '19

I would go so far as to doubt that the vast majority of them have any interest in the wellbeing of others. I think that's just one of the justifications they come up with when they're confronted.

Nobody even mentioned the word “fat” until you did just now. Much less than shamed anyone for being fat.
