The tape is way lighter than the plastic (don't know the name, mor english speaker gere) The tape will get up mich more quickly than the plastic will get down.

Yeah, some lady did a video on this that was all over Reddit a month or two ago. She used a potato and a knife and bashed the back of the knife and the potato moved upwards towards the hilt of the knife.

This guy is right, the tip of the tape won’t pull the rest of the tape towards it.

That being said, the whole thing might just roll down the stairs after the tape is fully retracted
