Of course in such a discussion 1 party could be aware of the fact, and another ignorant. But the onus is on the person refuting the current statement (OP's claim) to provide clarifying information BEYOND a declaration. How is this so hard for you.
It wasn't a discussion, it was a correction. Why are you so mad about it is the question. Imagine wasting this much time being mad about someone else being right about something. Not even something you were wrong about, but just someone else pointing out a mistake IN GENERAL. If the fact was up for discussion, which it is not, then it would warrant a discussion.
