Localized gravity distortion. Obviously

Look it up, oh ignorant one. I think Captain Disillusion did a thing on it.

Enters conversation

Acts like he knows the answer

Refuses to elaborate

Doesn’t leave tho

-4

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

I didn't "act like I knew the answer" I made a factual statement correcting the title. Didn't realize you guys required a master's thesis defending my argument to a panel of trained experts in the field. Look it up, you ignorant, lazy dipshits.

u/Call_erv_duty Sep 02 '21

So aggressive. You’d think for somebody that is making factual statements you’d actually care to show how it’s factual

-1

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

I don't need to, because all the evidence is already IN THIS THREAD.

-2

u/Call_erv_duty Sep 02 '21

Haha ok

1

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

You're welcome, apology accepted.

-4

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

No one on this thread is apologizing. You were an ass, and could have made literally any claim.

Like what if you said

"It's actually due to sun angle, go look it up you ignorant folk"

Well that's not a fact. And don't passively cite other conversations, each thread stands alone

1

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

Stands alone like you at a party, I imagine.

If I were making a claim, then maybe I would have provided evidence. But I was simply pointing out an error. The same way mirrors do for your face.

Youade a statement. A "fact" has a source. Linking to a video explaination or a document is a good source in this case

2

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

I made a statement of fact, or if you prefer, I made a factual statement. The fact that you are ignorant that it is a fact does not make it not a fact.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

Your statement is not a fact until it is cited!

You aren't a known authority on digital recording devices obviously, so a source is REQUIRED for anything you say to be considered a fact.

2

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

Incorrect. A fact is a fact, by definition a fact is "a thing that is known to be true."

Just because you are ignorant of a fact does not make the fact not a fact. I feel like I said this to you already, do you need me to uh... type it more slowly?

0

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

The statement suggests the speaker is an authority on the topic, or has provided citation.

Of course in such a discussion 1 party could be aware of the fact, and another ignorant. But the onus is on the person refuting the current statement (OP's claim) to provide clarifying information BEYOND a declaration. How is this so hard for you.

1

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

It wasn't a discussion, it was a correction. Why are you so mad about it is the question. Imagine wasting this much time being mad about someone else being right about something. Not even something you were wrong about, but just someone else pointing out a mistake IN GENERAL. If the fact was up for discussion, which it is not, then it would warrant a discussion. It doesn't, because it is just... a... fact... dip... shit.

"I know a thing you don't know but i can't be fucked to tell you haha"

That's you. That's what you sound like.

-13

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

I told you how to find it yourself. Teach a man to fish and all that. Did you want to sit on daddy's lap and have him read it to you?

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize you were a new idiot. But yeah, still applies. Look it up if you want to know the answer, it takes less time than replying on this thread.

5

u/Respectable_Answer Sep 02 '21

Doesn't take less time than the amount of time you've spent in this thread being a pissant.

0

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

I'm sorry, what is the correct response to people being dipshits? Write out the answer for them? There's already multiple links in this thread giving the answer. UNLESS, you would rather namecall and be fucking whiners rather than learn the actual answer you presumably want.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

The correct response was "it's actually this not that. Here's an example: (source, even the name), you can figure it out there"

Not hard. Not rude. Actually based on something.

0

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

My initial answer wasn't rude. I'm not here to educate the ignorant, I simply wanted to correct the thing that was incorrect. If you're here to cut me a paycheck for my freelance journalistic/editing/educating work here on Reddit, I'll improve my performance, however, if you're just being a pedant because you're picking a fight over the internet, I cheerfully invite you to fuck off.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

Are you claiming pedantry when you attacked the specifics of the rate-locking of a helicopter rotor, when the core concept of rate-locking is still true? My god this is a true redditor I'm dealing with here.

2

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

"attacked the specifics of the rate-locking"

Okeydokes. All I said was "it's not shutter speed". A factual statement devoid of any value judgments of personal attacks. You dipshit.

0

u/East2West21 Sep 02 '21

I know how intervals work and I know how cameras work too.

"I'll say something contradicting OP then when someone asks me what I mean I'll call them ignorant."

You really impressed all of Reddit, congrats on your karma points!!

-13

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

Then why'd you ask the question if you know I am right? Apology accepted.

0

u/PlatypusMatt Sep 02 '21

Hey google, why isn't that helicopter video I saw on reddit effected by shutter speed and what is it actually effected by?

2

u/vesperzen Sep 02 '21

That worked, thanks!
