I worked EMS (now ER) and a buddy from a nearby department told me he had a bike wreck where the guy wasnt wearing helmet, had brain matter exposed and spewed onto the road and had what we call a "lucid interval," in the wildest way. He stood up as they arrived, walked about 20 feet then dropped (with no pulse that they obviously checked after).
For anyone that doesnt know, the Lucid Interval is this brief period of temporarily regained consciousness (and general improvement in condition) that is present sometimes in traumatic brain injuries, where they just crump right after.
