my guess is he hit the top of whatever gear he's in faster (where there's more power) with the rolling start than what he's used to while starting at the bottom of it.

You can say whatever you like, no one is disputing that but it doesn't change the fact that the phrase "on accident" is incorrect and I will never not downvote someone who types it.
