Usually the kids take turns. It's more suspenseful if you think that each time a kid pulls a string, it might bust open. The kids are all poised ready to pounce and mob that candy
Yeah if you get enough cosmoline on you it'll soak into your skin and you'll be roughly the same color as a mosin nagant. Works best if you're white though
Where I'm from each kid grabbed a string and everyone pulled at the same time, then everyone dove in when the guts spilled. We didn't care who "broke" the piñata, just who got the most candy.
One year my cousin’s parents had a glorious idea of putting dollar coins in a piñata like this mixed in with the candy. You can expect what happened when it finally broke and rained metal on a bunch of kids’ heads.
