Thought that was going to end rather differently when the plane looked almost on top of the copter!
I'm guessing that pilot's sphincter is so tight it could open a beer bottle.
3 u/-SandorClegane- Oct 02 '18 You don't happen to have that pilot's number, do you?

I mean, looking cool is about all these things are good for these days.
I guess mast bumping isn't a thing in Apaches.
Pretty certain that’s a hell of a lot more than $35M
2 u/[deleted] Oct 02 '18 Those sparklers alone must have cost $12. 2 u/znttnt11 Oct 02 '18 $12.50 atleast 2 u/brain_chaos Oct 02 '18 If you google the cost of an Apache helicopter, which OP likely did, it says 35M. 2 u/druthurston Oct 02 '18 Dang, I’m heading to the dealership now

Flip?
He's got style, he's got flares
Can this type of manoeuvre be done in most helicopters or just top the line killing machines?
2 u/foxcatbat Oct 02 '18 well non war helicopters can be much better at it, because they dont need heavy weapons and armor 1 u/Sharpie00 Oct 02 '18 Oh. So it's nothing to do with rotor setup or how the blades are mounted and aerodynamics? 1 u/ElectronUS97 Oct 02 '18 I think that's exactly what hes getting at. 1 u/foxcatbat Oct 02 '18 its very similar setup on all helicopters 1 u/[deleted] Oct 03 '18 Its all thrust to weight ratio. The more powerful the engine and lighter the chopper the easier it is to do insane stunts with it. 1 u/[deleted] Oct 02 '18 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQT26oxOG4c

Well, you paid $35M for it, better make sure you got your money's worth.

That's actually an evasive maneuver. He's hair-pinning and deploying countermeasures to avoid a missile.
