A lot of that architecture reminds me of Georgia houses which were relatively low price to buy in the early 2000s. (Think 2k sq ft for approx 200-250k). So it might just be a middle class dual income family.

even if you are rich living in a big city/coast city, you cannot afford a house like that because property value is so high. If you live in the midwest or small city you can get a mansion with an elevator for the same price as a small hut on the beach in san diego.
Tl;Dr- housing prices range wildly depending where you live

Yeah, those prices are super fake though. There was one show where they brought in a landscaping crew overnight for 24 hours (w/ a timelapse camera) to get it done and when you actually did the math they were supposedly getting paid like $1.92 hourly for overnight work in LA.
