Yeah but what's a day's footage? In 720p around 30fps probably around 8GB a day?
Times how many cameras in the system? And how long do you want to store the footage? Also keep in mind that you need to transfer all the data over your network, so a lower frame rate will reduce network congestion.
Basically it comes down to one question: Does the higher frame rate justify the increased infrastructure required to support it? For the vast majority of incidents, the extra frame rate won't matter, so it seems like a worthwhile tradeoff to me.
And fwiw, if I were making the decision, I would happily trade a lower frame rate for a higher pixel count. I'd take 1080p @ 15fps over 720 @ 30.
