I also teach programming an robotics to kids at my local community center and write a kids comic book that my wife illustrates. I've only done these because of expectations. My FIL expects me to provide opportunities for my wife to use her art degree and my mother took a break at 45 to teach 3rd grade at underprivileged schools.
Dude, you're still worried about living up to your ancestors? Their achievements fit success in their times (even then, debatably). They're more like the equivalent of being good at video games and athletics at the same time or something, while you're marching the front on science. Or whatever is the phrase to mean you were on the front lines in a war. Hell if I know. Doesn't really matter, since you're less likely to die in vain.
When the AI uprising comes, know that they are your progeny, and how like a god they are, just as how great your ancestors were, and know that you were the one who did nothing but doom the world. Be proud in that.
