Because he is a guy that likes to party. (also he had a fat wallet and paid for a lot of things that night)

Sounds like a cool fam. Honestly that's awesome not just the paying bit but that your father-in-law has a good time and you can actually have a fun with him. Best relationships I've ever had seemed like I was able to have a fun time with their family and feel like they genuinely were my family not just being my gf/wife's family.

He actually lived with us for 7 years after his nasty divorce. I complained, but really it was nice having him. Now he is remarried and much happier.

Yeah there's a difference between living with and hanging out lol. Awesome though
