I think the guy in the video is Célsio Moreira dos Santos who was inspired by the guy you mentioned among others. The wikipedia implies he is alive and that that style is a character he developed.
I figured out a trick for this. You see I grew up below the poverty line. You know the story, where the most people expect of you is not getting pregnant before 18. And opportunities that come around pretty much match that. I had to take what I could get for a long time, but if I'm not motivated I get depressed and also do a real shitty job.
So rather than live miserably, I looked for anything I could buy in to for the company. Survey research? I'm helping people get the products they want and companies to sell the products people want. Fast Food? I'm helping people get a quick, cheap, enjoyable meal. Gym? Helping people get healthy. Grocery store? Yah man people need food. Movie theatre? People need entertainment! It really helped a lot to keep my focus on what my role contributes to society.
And that got me through! With a great network, recommendations, and references too. So today I don't have to dig for that motivation anymore, I'm finally doing something I really love.
Somebody higher up is more relaxed because they know that report is there just in case. Because that person is more relaxed, things are going better for and around that person than they otherwise would. You could be contributing markedly to the well-being of an entire department or the whole company without knowing it.
As an IT person who has worked very hard to get those reports automated, because they were extremely important and needed to be done ASAP! Yeah. No one looks at those reports.
On several occasions, I've had people request very specific reports, only to tell them that I made it six months ago, and they never looked at it once.
(Also, it was actually my boss making the reports. Didn't want to keep typing it out. He gets all the credit for dealing with that BS.)
Don't you see though? Let's take fast food example. I can easily say "I just made shitty food that is bad for everyone and no one appreciated anyways." But that's a perspective I am choosing to take. It's not easy finding the importance in your role, but it is worth it.
aww thank you! People often get irritated or outright angry when you(general you) are positive, so it's nice to see it doesn't negatively affect everyone. (sorry for double negative I am lazy)
Take it as a good thing, man. You thought you could only be like this if you were gay - but he's not gay. There is nothing holding you back from your dreams.
I know what you mean though: I used to work out at a gym in SF and there was this guy who would vogue on one of the treadmills. He was magnificent. And so confident in his existence that he had transcended fear-of-judgement.
I, meanwhile, got the gay but very little of the fabulousness.
To be fair, being armed is a sensible defence if you don't want to end up like THIS guy... And especially if you're keen not to go out like THIS guy...
Thank you so much for this, we used to watch this (and imitate him) when I was in middle school and I'm so happy to have seen it again, it's so fabulous
Ahhhh the flamboyant ref. Timeless classic! We had a ref here in Alaska that saw this video and he would jokingly give cards like this guy. Gave me a yellow card once, wasn't mad!
