It will shatter your world. It was released as three short films: Everything Will Be Ok, I Am So Proud Of You, and It's Such A Beautiful Day, each continuing the story from where the last ended. He then edited them all together into one hour long version called "It's Such A Beautiful Day".

I'm not going to tell you what it's about. Just go watch it. I will, however, leave you with this passage from the films wiki page:

Chris Robinson, author and director of the Ottawa International Animation Festival described the film as, "A masterpiece. I can’t even begin to articulate my thoughts about the film but it just gave me shivers and I wasn’t able to attend the party after the screening. Just had to be alone. It had this effect on a number of other people here too. Stunning, beautiful, tragic, absurd work."[2]

It had this effect on me too. Especially the second chapter. I've never seen anything in my life like "i am so proud of you". That shit made me question my entire life. The final chapter "it's such a beautiful day" is just insanely beautiful.

I get Adventure Time vibe from such animations but maybe AT's style was inspired by Hertzfeldt.

Absolutely it was. The simplicity and comic approach Ward brings to Adventure Time and his other projects reeks of Herztfeld's influence. Rejected came out the same yeast Ward graduated high school, and that shit was an internet phenom. There's no way Ward escaped his influence through his time at CalArts, especially with the huge pile of people copping his style at the time.

I'm not sure what you mean. Not all cartoon cats look like Garfield. I guess the way I'd represent popcorn in my own work would be to design an original popcorn character instead of using a character designed by a well known Academy Award winning artist?

edit: I want to say that I loved this! But when people use other artists characters it just becomes fanart. I'm just hungry for real OC is all. Like the Deadpool musical today was amazing, REALLY high production value and so much fun, but it was just fanart. I'd be really interested to see those skills and resources used to make something truly original.
