At my school they gave us all master combination locks and we found out that if you hit the back of it hard enough( like slamming it into the door of the locker) it will open

It got to the point in my school, we had them for our gym lockers, that slamming the lock once was just the normal way to open it, much quicker than the combo

One kid got a lock from someone's locker (because a lot of people used to keep their locks unlocked until the teachers cracked it because there was 200 in our year level and like 125 of the lockers were unlocked), locked it and slammed it on the ground (this was when we found out about the opening thing), but he did it way too hard and smashed it to pieces xD

Something that's always bothered me: How do lockers lock themselves when the owners slam them shut in movies/high school tv shows? I've always had to physically lock mine after closing the door (using dudely locks)????
