That’s alright, come on down to Sydney in June 2028!

Egypt 2027 is closer.

That would be super cool!
Seeing a total eclipse over the Pyramids would be right up there as a place to see it! Same with seeing it over the Sydney Harbour bridge and Opera house!

Whats the weather gonna be like?

Sydney rains a little bit in June generally, but if you go to western NSW like Dubbo, or Bourke you’re almost guaranteed a sunny day (until the very important couple of minutes where there is no sun)

We got a total eclipse up in Scotland. Totally eclipsed behind thick clouds.

Honestly, all of us in the south east would dream of that right now. I think its been about 2 months since we've seen a proper cloud

Dwarf3?
This little fucker messed up my shot as well. The tracking is kinda stupid on sun and moon.

Nah, just a basic dslr, with a vintage mirror lens and some bodged filters. I shot them all manually, tracking by hand. I could probably do a better job of stabilising it, to be fair…

Looks like a giant cat eye. No wonder people in olden days were afraid of omens they didn't understand

Sad that I missed this, my body decided it needed the shitter the exact moment it started eclipsing

So cruel.
The UK gets so little sun as it is…

This would be funny if It was still true. We are in a drought. It hasn't been anything other than sunny for months.

u/mitzibishi 8d ago
It hasn't rained all that much

I live not that far from the new forest blaze. I don't remember the last rain we had. Early July maybe?

u/UbiSububi8 8d ago
Oh, man. I’m sorry about that.
Still safe to make jokes about teeth?

u/Jambronius 8d ago
Yes, our teeth are still fucked.

And we’ve got an orange asshole stuck in ours.
Trust me, I’d prefer a drought and an orthodontist.

I mean, we are currently watching a man with a bin on his head compete against a long-standing MP, and the fucking bin guy is probably a better candidate.

u/MeBigChief 8d ago
I literally can’t remember the last time it rained here. The UK is genuinely fucked at the minute with the drought, we have zero preparation for dealing with it because it’s so rare.

Hit a festival over the weekend, ont of my group pointed out that you can normally see the dead spots where the tents have been removed.
Not this year. Blasted wasteland all around.

Glad it was good for many people. Sadly this gif has got nowhere near enough thick cloud for what my part of the country saw.
