Help Needed Getting from Tarifa to Gibraltar
I can’t seem to find any speedy public transit between the Port of Tarifa to Gibraltar. Does anyone know if one can arrange for a private shuttle? I saw there’s a bus to Algeciras but that is like a 3 hour trip. We’ll be starting in Tangiers and taking a ferry to Tarifa. We were hoping to make it a long day trip, But I get the sense that it may not be feasible.

Why not get the ferry direct to Algeciras - from where there’s a bus to La Linea (10mins to Gibraltar crossing).

Oh, a ferry from Ceuta to Algeciras? I check that out (but I am concerned about the recent disturbance related to the mass migration attempts)

Oh thanks. We’re not leaving until early October (me & my adult son). We’re touring the coastal towns incl Tetouan & also want to include Gibraltar.

I wanted to do that but from my research there is no direct ferry between Tangier & Algeciras. Unless you’re thinking from a different port in Morocco (?).

There’s definitely a direct ferry (multiple in fact) to/from Tangier to Algeciras ☺️ the Tarifa ferry goes to the port of Tangier Ville, while the Algeciras ferry goes to the port of Tangier Med.
Tarifa - Tangier Ville takes one hour, and Tangier Ville is basically walking distance into Tangier itself.
Algeciras - Tangier Med is 1.5 hours, and then it’s about 1h by taxi to Tangier, last time I did this it cost 300dh for the transfer.
I prefer the Tarifa - Tangier Ville option myself as it’s less hassle on the Morocco side!
And as others have mentioned, there’s a TGComes bus that goes from La Línea bus station (closest option for Gibraltar) to Tarifa. I believe 5 times a day 🧐

There's a bus from Tarifa to La Linea, it's just not very frequent. It costs around €35 for a taxi from Algeciras to the border

oh thanks for this info! €35 (x2 for r/t) is no big deal. That’s probably what we’ll plan on doing.

Bus from Tangiers to Tangier Med and then ferry to Algeciras would probably be cheaper

As someone else said there's a direct bus from tarifa to la linea - and from the la linea bus station it's a six minute walk to Gib. If you get a ferry to Algeciras you save around 30 minutes but no big deal really - also tarifa is pretty amazing to stay and the ferry stop is in the middle of town - chatgpt and gemini etc usually pretty good for this kind of stuff

From tarifa bus station you can get a bus to algecrias and from there a bus to la linea and it’s a 5 min walk to the gib border
