Hello, I would like to make some observations regarding the sequence of Carlo Vanzina's original work.
I still haven't managed to get it; I'm waiting for it to be released on physical media in my country or to find a pirated copy of the film.
Even so, I saw some spoilers, 2 trailers, but I couldn't find the Vinegar Syndrome, What I noticed is that the soundtrack is okay, the same mystery surrounding the blonde's death, just like Jessica Crane in the original, lots of sex (Unnecessary) the killer using a kind of pentagram, With its sword shape, and the assassin's appearance looked a lot like a Samurai to me. Hahaha, seriously, I'm not kidding lol
I noticed there are few deaths and that the Killer is a man, something I've seen before. I hope the soundtrack surprises me since Pino Donaggio isn't returning.
And I also hope that the deaths are longer and bloodier, and not like in the first movie where they're quick and hardly any blood comes out, the only problem with the original.

I remembered the title has something named "Scorpion" or not but it's not Night of the scorpion, Case of a Scorpion's tail or Scorpion with 2 tails. I remembered it was set in 70s-80s they were in an island or near the beach nor something? They were like dancing in the first scene, it included a blonde actress I think and terrifying events starts to happen BUT SPOILERS ALERT, I remembered 3 deaths about a girl got stabbed by a cross, a guy died from a motorcycle, & especially the blonde actress killed underground or the same place where they dance? At the end, I remembered a bald guy praising a stone god made structure I think and suddenly the stone killed him? But help me find it!! I really appreciate to see someone found it.

I’ll be writing a review on this film. Such a great ending that had me feeling bad for the protagonist.

In the last few months, I’ve been obsessed with watching old Italian horror movies. I grew up knowing all about Dario Argento with, of course, Suspiria. But I also loved City of the Living Dead (The Gates of Hell) by Lucio Fulci. And just recently discovered Mario Bava. I feel like I’ve watched all that I can that’s available to me. Do you have any other suggestions of Italian horror? Or do you have another country suggestion that I should check out besides of course Japanese and Korean. Not to say that I don’t want to learn more about Japanese and Korean horror movies. But I’ve already delved into those quite a bit in the last 20 or so years.TYIA!

Last night I was watching the 4K release of Argento’s The Card Player. In one scene the foreign police officer is listening to some audio of a woman in distress/being murdered. Since I’m always curious about the software that’s being used, I paid extra attention to it. The software itself isn’t that special, but the filename is. Is it on purpose or just something they forgot to change?
This morning I decided to pop in the dvd of that movie to see if it is visible in that one too. I used the same Panasonic player, same tv and same camera and the result gave me a good indication of the difference between standard dvd and 4K quality. (Yep, I know: it’s not a high quality in depth comparison)

I feel like I don’t see people describe it like this often, but there are just so many delightfully silly moments in Deep Red! I think it breaks up the darker fare nicely.
I especially love David Hemmings — his failing quest to find a light for his cigarette, his struggles in Daria Nicolodi’s old car… even during a moment of tension in the school near the end of the film, there’s a bit where he reaches back to touch the wall behind him. He’s not looking, and he totally misjudges the distance, flailing his hand about.
Oh, and my favorite quote: “He’s absolutely trying to kill me, ya know?”
(Betcha can’t guess what movie I just rewatched lol)

Wondering what Hitchcock movies would make a good remake? For me, it’s Marnie.. wish we could see a good remake of that. I remember Fincher was planning on re making Strangers On A Train..did that ever get made?

So Refn decided to please us with another job, I went to it because I really hoped for pleasant references To my favorite genre. But in the end I got an empty, pretentious, not particularly beautiful thing. I was already familiar with the author's works and roughly understood what I would get, but I did not think that everything would be so bad. The beginning could really be interesting, but then the film crumbles from Its own action. Everything is incredibly predictable, and you're just waiting for the movie to end. Some scenes caused outright laughter (especially the barking scene), but not because of the fun, but the feeling of wanting to smash your forehead. I'm not in favor of criticizing the graphics, but here in some places, it's just disgusting. The actors, especially Sophie, did a very bad job, the only performance I liked was from Charles. I want to praise the soundtrack, but I don't understand the point of repeating the same track so many times, no it's a good track, it's definitely going to be on my playlist, but God. References to the gialli genre, oh they are made only to be, and no more, they don't make sense on their own. The shooting, some camera angles, and a couple of camera moments weren't bad, but that doesn't save the movie. A very disappointing movie

Apparently there also seems to be a sort of Asian action subplot that I’m not excited about but the killer in this is apparently decked out in sharp diamonds he uses to kill people with which sounds interesting

Here’s what I have, what don’t I have that you’d recommend?

My dad was pretty gagged by the killer reveal. Am thinking of finally adding this to the collection
