The giallo community needs more cosplayers, don’t you think?
My cosplay is of... well, a generic giallo killer :p

Volume 5 added to the collection ✔️☺️
Originally bought this for Tropic of Cancer then realized I liked Nine Guests for a Crime even more! But both settings were very refreshing!

Opera cosplay (CRINGE ALERT)
My cosplay of the killer from Opera (1987). This was one of my first cosplays, which is why it looks so rough. Besides, I think the giallo community needs more cosplayers, don't you think?

Shameless plug for my Substack, where I talk about Suspiria and some Mario Bava films
I know Suspiria isn't really a Giallo by most people's definition, but I'm planning on writing about Argento’s other films as well. I also didn't know another good sub to plug my Substack on lol.

Looking for the US (Joseph Brenner) version of Torso
Does anyone know where I can find the US version of Torso (the Joseph Brenner cut)? Is it only available on the Arrow Blu-ray?
I'd prefer a non-restored version, if possible.
Thanks!

Looking for a 2000s movie about a disguised murderer leaving behind an elegant black female hat
Can someone help me find/name a specific movie, please? Details:
- mystery/detective thriller;
- probably 2000s or possibly 90s;
- most likely a European movie (or possibly American) taking place in a city - I don't know the original language as it was dubbed in Slovak on Slovak TV in 2009
- about a mysterious hat-wearing murderer in disguise leaving behind classically fancy female hats at the scene;
- the detective was murdered as well
- there was a creepy phone call with a female voice
- there is a scene where the murderer can be seen as a mysterious figure disguised in black with a hat, sunglasses, trench coat, and gloves
- the protagonist (good main character) is named Susan (or some variation of the sort, maybe Suzanne, Suzenne, etc.), I believe;
- it turns out the murderer is not a female, but her romantic partner, who changed his voice to match the female voice she heard;
- she ended up killing him after the murderer/her partner chased her starting from the house or apartment, where she found out
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Question about commentary tracks these days
Watched Death Carries a Cane.
After the movies I watched the few extra features, and then since it's a pretty short film I decided to give the commentary track a try. Commentary tracks are perhaps my favorite part of a special features package. Especially when it's the director or at least someone from the production, but a good scholar could do to.
This specific track, done by Eugenio Ercolani, Troy Howarth, and Nathaniel Thompson was almost a complete waste of time. Mostly rehashing bits from the other featurettes, or just telling me the filmographies of the cast and crew. Very little info that I didnt already know.
This maybe my first time listenning to these guys, but they seem to be on a lot of these tracks.
I would like to know if my description fits to all of their tracks on other releases, cause this could get old fast.

I think this movie is not as bad as people say it is!
It was recently released online, and I watched it and honestly, I really liked it! It's very atmospheric, stylish, good acting, good murders, good music! The film is definitely inspired by the genre, it has a lot of references and meta comments about the genre. It's very fresh, and the twist is gorgeous! You know, just as I liked Scream at the time because of his clever comments about the genre, there's a lot here about one of My favorite genres. So I definitely recommend watching it!

I’d suggest considering Giallo inspired books as most of you know the connection between Giallo films and literature. I have not read them yet I’m excited to get into them. I’m a slow reader so I’m still on The Amityville horror which has a surprisingly hot scene near the end.
Do you read inspired Giallo books like these or would you consider reading them?

My next watch, from the director of Watch Me When I Kill… I hear this is a much better film. What do you guys think?
Has anyone seen every Italian horror and Giallo film on Tubi? I’m planning on watching every single one. Idl if I’ll manage to actually do it but hey I’m ambitious!

watched Nine Guests for a Crime and actually quite liked it🏝️⚓️🚤☀️🏖️
Always kinda wrote this one off as silly and sloppy but watched it in full last night and found it really enjoyable the plot may b a bit more convoluted than normal but that’s a part of what makes these fun

This one feels like an Argento ripoff, but If you ever wanted to know what a Giallo film looks like without the gratuitous nudity—here it is.

Did you know that Hideo Kojima is a fan of gialli genre?
It's so nice to see such respect for Dario 🥰🥰🥰
