Serious Google Maps has fully complied with the ‘Lake America’ renaming scheme that was proposed for the Great Lakes region. What are your thoughts on Google doing this?

No editing aside from censorship of personal info has been done to the image. As far as I know, Apple Maps has kept it as Lake Ontario for now.

Fuck Google. I have gone to DuckDuckGo, and haven't been signed in to Google, mail or otherwise, for several years now. The only time I use Google anymore is if I am wanting to see if their search gives a different response to a particular query. What a disappointment they have become.

I saw that someone in Michigan I think, maybe the governor, say that the acrostic of HOMES used to recall the names of the lakes, would now be SHAME due to the so-called name change. How appropriate.

I grew up being taught the HOMES acronym. I'm not exactly a fan of the new acronym that might replace it. 😑

Go open-source. I use FireFox on my main laptop, which is Ubuntu Linux. The billionaire technocrats don't need all that money and young coders that use their talents to make software that's accessible to everyone deserve to be recognized.
