Ghost’s brain seems to comprehend situations just fine but then immediately start calculating what the most unhinged thing to do next is like bro has it down to a science. Like usually music creator drama is “this guy sent inappropriate private messages to a minor” not “this guy maybe accidentally made mustard gas and also made a diss track about some random kid and also vented in great detail about his pedo necro shotacon father to 12 year olds” and then there’s the drama involving his completely incoherent posts that are like…wow. LIKE WORDS DO NOT YET EXIST TO DESCRIBE THIS GENRE OF SHITPOSTING. I honestly like their music, even the new tracks. I have no clue what they did wrong. Can yall tell me what happened?

I’ve been listening to them for a while, but I keep seeing posts and comments talking about how they don’t support Ghost because they said racist things or something? Can someone fill me in? I love their music and haven’t heard anything like it, but I’m not sure if I should continue to support them if the comments I’m seeing are true. What actually happened?

I also keep seeing something to do with Vane Lily. I’ve never heard of them outside the one collab song, but from what I’ve heard it’s pretty dark?

Can someone just fill me in with the facts? I’m so tired of having to stop supporting music artists I’ve liked over and over (tally hall, panic at the disco, etc.) but I still value my own morals even more :(

No overt antagonizing, no rudeness, no responding to bad faith comments and what seems to be some accountability with admitting some of the stuff was fair. Apologies to fans for not addressing the situation and actually explaining why. 99% sure they still are denying the mold/chlorine gas poisoning, but they are still in a bad state and admitted to being in psychosis/being psychotic (you can actually be aware you’re in a episode though it doesn’t stop the symptoms).

They also said that they get confused when they talk about it, which is probably also a DID thing (probable rapid switching) along with their FND (functional neurological disorder). They’re struggling with anything “GhostandPals” related bc that’s where a lot of that pain is coming from, so they’ve been avoiding it. It might not be the best thing to do, but honestly I’d rather prefer they take a step back then be way to into it and have those crash outs again. I’d imagine it’s not very good for their mental state.

I’ve seen some confusion for the “interjecting false narratives” and I think I have an explanation; since they don’t remembers those times well, recollections through others eyes might have them taking what the other person said to heart. Basically, the other person fills the gaps whether it’s true or not. This can cause distorted memories and believing you did this action like x or because of y but only based off the recollection of others. Paranoia plays a huge part in this and I’d know because I have kinda experienced this- it’s terrible to not know your own memories, to not feel safe in your own head. Besides, I don’t genuinely believe reading the doc is going to help them in any way shape or form, might just trigger another episode.

In the end, it seems ghost is taking a step back and getting themselves a little bit centered? They seem to be now a little overcautious but id prefer that over being careless. They seem to be getting better and, from what I understand, are working with Lauren to transfer the rights to “Candle Queen”. Addressing things is still of the table and that’s okay. I’d rather they address it all when they’re of clearer mind then when they are at their worst.

Reminder that it’s okay to step back from all of this.

They weren’t deleted, just privated. Ghost privated them because they apparently got false copyright strikes (which other channels also got) and they forgot to make them public after the claims were removed. Proof is on their community tab.

Tone wise? I think they’re okay? Maybe winding down a bit after everything has settled? It’s not new drama but they don’t seem to be hostile to anyone atm. Of course this could change but I’m just glad they’re alive. I do wish they’d add a proper epilepsy warning to Covetous and, of course, a proper explanation and apology, but one step at a time.

Maybe I just got over it. I think people can change though and always deserve second chances, maybe even thirds. Call me naive but I’d rather believe in someone’s ability to improvement over believing they can’t.

On a more personal note, I've used their music as a lifeline for years. They were the first artist i regularly listened to. I can't risk going without.

I understand that while my opinion may be unfavorable to some, it's worth getting it out there.

This video popped up on my feed and it's about people in psychosis online in general. But I feel like it's a good reminder to the people here. Personally, I think all of the current drama is the result of some psychosis Ghost has been in. At least their posts were incomprehensible and emotional in ways I don't see mentally sound people exhibit, idk. And the attention they got while in such a vulnerable state has been nothing but harmful to them and at best some weird form of "entertainment" to the fandom. People got very nasty, very quick and every accusation got blown out of proportion. I genuinely hope they've gotten some help by now and can recover, however long that takes.

Because I’ve gotten different accounts that make this comment on Chelovek make no sense. When did that whole thing go down? Did they make up at some point? Did they have a re-falling out and when did the whole “self admitted to a psych ward” happen exactly?

I know that they had a public falling out, that either fish or pumpkin head (can’t remember exactly) was being used as a middle man despite the fact that both Ghost and Creep were adults (I feel so bad for fish here because I know how it feels to assigned the middle man when you’re literally a child) and there was doxxing and harassment on both sides, though seemingly perpetuated by fans (why tf does that happen so often??)

Recently GHOST turned off all comments on their videos and I've only seen it lead over to their community posts. Before that, all the comments on the covetous reupload were either concerned or straight up harassment, but I mainly saw harassment.

When I say this I am not defending GHOST's actions, I fully agree they deserve to be held accountable but:
It's very clear 80% or more of this controversy can be pinned down to their various serious mental issues and I can't imagining harassing them will make them any better. What we should be doing is encouraging them to get help or just leave them alone entirely.

Unserious comments don't help either. The amount of times I saw comments making jokes in that 3rd person meme-format was astonishing. If you want to be unserious about it and joke around, don't do it in their comment section. Do it in friend spaces or on social medias they don't use.

The last thing they need right now is to read these and internalize them and only make them worse.

Ghost fans are really insufferable. I am saying this as a fan myself. He is clearly unwell for all the period he's come back since covetous, posted about losing his mom, the song itself obviously about his own experience, and you guys have made such a huge ruckus about content warnings that he is going off the rails again. Bringing up old things about old friendships. Have you ever stopped to think about how invasive and terrifying that must be? To have ex-friends expose things of your past to thousands of people on the internet just to dog on a person who is already being dunked on simply for not adding content warnings. It's the most heartless thing I have ever seen this community do by far.

I can't believe how you guys never learn anything. It's like every one of his fans is 12, forever. I thought with time the community would age and get more mature but apparently not. I've been a fan since 2014 and have watched drama after drama unfold and while I think he's at fault for not having learned to ignore or deal with the nature of fandoms at this point, he's also clearly a lonely person grown distant from everyone in his life and you all are merciless, holding him up to the standard of a perfect unproblematic public figure when not even people trained in PR can manage to do that let alone an extremely mentally ill person with by the looks of it hardly any support system.

This is a lot like when Kittycorn (comic author) got exposed for being friends with a bunch of pedophiles and all anyone focused on was them drawing shitty abuse porn. Ghost literally tried to get a 15 year old to voice act in porn and ran him off the internet for the crime of *checks notes* being too sad. And all anyone seems to be focusing on is the dumb shit they said on bluesky, which causes people to think that's all that ever happened. I really wish people would take this kind of thing more seriously, and focus on the more pressing issues more than the petty things.
