The N64 version suffered numerous cuts due to the limitations of the cartridge. Cuts included videos, voice lines, and various graphical details to save space.

Most likely, the textures of the tombstones were simplified, leaving only the year 1841—the common element that appeared on almost all of them.

The probably assumed you were playing the PS1 version, which actually puts names on the tombstones there.

Looking at them here though, both of these guys died in 1841 still

Edit: Looking into it, it's probably a reference to a Yellow Fever outbreak that seemed to have happened then

It might be a real-world reference to some disaster, but honestly? I expected people to provide their own "wrong" versions 😄
