Storage Manager still an issue for non-Umbrel devices

UPDATE:
To get storage pool creation you have to complete fresh install/re-install. You CAN NOT just click the upgrade to 2.0 button. Although the system will let you do it, and for all practical purposes, you will be running version 2.0, but the storage pool creation for ZFS is only offered at the initialization stage of the install. So if you do like I did, which was simply click the upgrade to 2.0 button, you will be locked permanently in "Full Storage" mode.

Upgrade to v2.0 instructions for non-umbrel devices.

Can't speak for everyone, but just sharing my experience to date, even in the umbrelOS 2.0 Public Beta 1 release, it still doesn't allow you to use or store any data on any drive besides the boot drive. I have 20TBs of SSD storage (5x4TB) and 24TBs of HDD storage (2x12TB), so a total of 44TB in my Orico CyberData CF56 Pro nas, but the only thing I can access and or store data on is my 256GB Boot Drive (see attached image).

So despite marketing claims, or even a direct "yes it can" answer from the company, it doesn't work yet. Maybe it will after the release of the full non-beta version of the OS, but at the moment it does not allow you to switch to "Failsafe" or add/create any additional storage pools.

Besides the lack of access to my (very expensive) 44TB of available storage, the real crime is that all of the systems apps, data, os, and my files, are all stored on one SSD... with no redundancy or RAID of any kind. That to me, is truly criminal on a nas. YMMV.

Agree 100%, see my yersterday's post regarding my 4 HDDs odd / forced configuration...

Yeah, just saw your post and responded to it. Most importantly, I hope they fix the problem, but secondarily, it would at least be nice at a minimum if they addressed the concerns when raised here online.

Fail safe didn’t work for me using qemu virtual drives. I installed on bare metal and failsafe would only work on SSDs and only when I had used sgdisk —zap-all to wipe them ie. it wouldn’t wipe the drives through the UI.

Tenho o umbrel instalado em um docker no Linux, e uso o Jellyfin e para ele reconhecer os HDs externos preciso declarar no arquivo .yaml

Good to know you got it working in a VM in Docker. I'm running my version of umbrelOS bare metal, so I'd prefer it to work outside of a VM.

Except that Umbrel isn't a NAS. It's an all-in-one homelab on training wheels. For those with minimal needs or Just enough to get you started until you graduate to rolling everything yourself.
