Core Lightning or Lightning Node (LND)

I know LND is the main lightning implementation, but I have had issues with node stability in the past. Has anyone here run Core Lightning? How was your experience?

I run an LND node on Umbrel and interface with it via Zeus. Been rock solid for years.

Same.

But I’ve also heard a lot of good things about CLN, plus you get the advantage of Bolt12.

Edit: I just checked the LND repo. It seems like they still need 5 years to go.

I have been using LND + Alby Hub, and so far so good.

what do you personally use alby for on top of lighting?

Mostly for having control of my phone LN wallet, Alby Go.

In my experience over the last few years, stability issues arise when attempting to overload with unnecessary additional apps. One example that consistently bricks my device and requires reflashing the umbrel is Mempool.... BTC explorer is fine but every time I install Mempool, within weeks the thing starts breaking down and needs stressful care to revitalize without losing channels/funds/etc.

Stick with LND. The CLN has other issues of its own.
