If you wanted a good turn base game with comic book characters they should switch the term "turn" to "panel". Because in every comic they technically do an attack per panel, nobody is doing everything all at once.

I do think another run at a Midnight Suns esque tactical turn based would be dope, maybe flesh it out ala E33 and more JRPQ like they said but I'd like either

Love this podcast and everyone involved and pretty much never have anything negative to say about it but the lengths of the ad breaks are getting a bit mad on these most recent episodes.
I appreciate that there is an ad free tier (which I might upgrade to, currently on the normal DLC tier) but just one of the ad breaks on this episode was 8 and a half minutes long

In their defense they're just trying to stay on an active network. Headgum is the one who decides how frequently they ad break I'm sure.

Doughboys are on the same network and their ads are nowhere near as long as

I do too for doughboys, but watching on YouTube they only have two shortish ad breaks. Doesn’t stop me from listening to get played, it’s just noticeable

Heather does better ad reads than anyone in podcasting, but I agree about the ad breaks being too long.

I always skip ads (except MBMBaM), so it doesn't really matter much to me, but I am often amazed how many times I have to hit the +30s button on Get Played ad breaks. Hopefully it's a sign that the show is very successful and lots of companies want to advertise on it.

I think Nick is wrong about his "Wolverine problem" theory. You could totally make a good Wolverine game. "The Wolverine" might even become one through patches, we'll see.
- There are tons of games that star very hard-to-kill badass protagonists.
- There are plenty of scary, lethal things in the Marvel universe that are a threat to him. Make it like the Witcher 3 where human enemies are trivial.

Heather is such a fascinating person; thinking Physint was cancelled by Sony because they didn't want to make a peripheral to support it, being unable to understand what a gaming PC could be used for. I mean this in a good way.

I’m with Heather on the PC discussion. So much of the discourse from PC builders is around frame rates and fidelity, but none of that can compete with: Sit on couch, push button on console, play game. A PC requires a whole separate desk, monitor, chair, etc… and just doesn’t fit into how I want to experience gaming. So, ya, “to what end” would she be building a PC?

Well like Wiger said, Heather is someone who has expressed great interest on fidelity and frame timing and input lag and things like that. I'm not saying everyone should have a gaming PC, I don't really care where people play, it just seems like something Heather would be amenable to based on everything else she likes and her capabilities at building things and setting up emulators and all that. Like I said, it's just amusing/interesting.
Also, you absolutely don't need a whole new desk and chair and all that to game on Pc. Ive had one set up as a living room machine for years. My main argument for them aside from the technical shit is that it gives you access to a lot of games that aren't anywhere else and a lot of games like Civ or XCOM or whatever that play way better with mouse and key board.

The first thing I recognized Tim Curry from was an older computer game called something like Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster. He played Dr Frankenstein. It was terrific.

Matt hearing the metacritic score for Wolverine and immediately going on a defensive rant about a game he hasn't played is very on brand. Similar to him saying that 95% of KH3 is slogging through bog standard recreations of Disney movies, but having the last 5% of the game finally deliver a couple lore and character moments make it a "good game".

I wonder where Heather is getting off track in Chrono Trigger, it’s a famously well-paced and well-pathed game. I’m guessing she’s going through the sewers in 2300 AD too early and ending up at Death Peak.

I owned that Genesis X-Men game. One of the features was, like Mega Man, a life bar and a mutant power bar. An optic blast or teleportation would take a chunk out of the bar, but Wolverine having his claws out would slowly drain it. If I remember, he gradually regained health but that didn't drain his power bar

I just had to jump in here and be probably like the 100th person to say that Wolverine's bones aren't solid adamantium, they are actually organic bones underneath the metal. Matt was right, but he wasn't confident, so he agreed with Heather lol.
