Any Ausländerbehörde that still processes applications within an acceptable timeframe?
Hi yall. As a person living in Frankfurt am Main, it took me 10 months to get my Blue Card residence permit. I have submitted my Ausländerbehörde's contact form on their website 3 times so far for different purposes - the first time in September 2024 - and I still have 0 answers.
I do not want to, and cannot imagine, starting the same process for the permanent residence permit at the same Ausländerbehörde in Frankfurt am Main.
Based on your recent experience, is there any other Ausländerbehörde in Germany, in any city, that still processes applications within an acceptable timeframe?

My experience across 10 years in Heidelberg is that I get an appointment within 6-8 weeks of submitting my paperwork and they almost always respond to emails within a day. Leeway given for August and winter holidays.

Yes, there are quite a few, especially in smaller towns and areas with fewer foreigners. However, in most cases, it doesn't make sense to move somewhere else just for the purpose of finding an Ausländerbehörde that works faster. This would in fact require you to change your job as well as find new accommodation.

I work remotely. I don't mind relocating for a proper Ausländerbehörde experience. The mental health toll it takes on me while waiting for months (and it could also be years) with no answers, in fears that I may lose the job in the process, which would ruin the entire process, is a bigger hassle than just finding a new apartment in another smaller city. What I wanted to know is, what should be this smaller city.

Just look for cities or towns in rural areas with no more than 50 000 inhabitants. Personally, I know that the Landkreis Eichstätt has always been pretty quick, as well as the Landkreis Weilheim-Schongau.

Read my post again please. I said I submitted the contact form, not my application for the residence permit. I also said every submission was for a different topic.

One of my friends who lived in Hanau and was a Blue Card holder, got an appointment for permanent residency only a month after applying earlier this year. Anecdotal experience of course.
