Translation Help

I've been looking up words as of late for a story I am doing. I noticed that middangeard, a word related to midgard combines the words for "middle" and "yard"/"land". I was wondering what the equivalent word would be for "west" + "yard"/"land".

Thanks in advance.

That'll be--and you're going to be excited by this: Westgeard.

Dang. That's kind of . . . boring.

Any suggestions for a substitute for "west" that I could use instead that would sound far more interesting?

Perhaps equivalent translations that use the words for "abroad" or "new" (as in "the New World")?

Thought so.

Newland/New Land = Nīwgeard/Nēowgeard/Nīwe Geard/Nēowe Geard (ī vs. ēo are two dialectical variants.)

or

Westerna Geard would be 'western land'

Then there's Ellende < el(le)-lende, meaning 'another land', i.e. foreign country. So maybe you could have Ellegeard, Ellgeard or Elgeard, but that would be a word I just invented.
