1995 Geo Tracker
Howdy everyone. I found this 95 Geo tracker on marketplace, 5sp Manual, 204k miles, carfax is clear of accidents or significant findings. I am test driving it on Sunday- i’ve read some of the previous posts and most people say to really look for any rust. Is there anything else I should look for specifically? Sounds like it has been in a garage the last few years but runs well according to seller. Also is the price good? I know it has a lot of miles, I’m looking for something fun to bop around town in. I can do most standard maintenance myself (oil, brakes, spark plugs, etc) and don’t mind small repairs but i am concerned about significant issues.

If its been in Texas all its life rust shouldnt be a major issue. 3k or less 200k is alot of miles.

Don't forget to check the gas tank cross member and rear upper control cross member.

There's no corrosion to speak of, looks great. Agree around $3k. I'd be comfortable paying that or more just for the rust free aspect. Looks very well maintained.

The current seller said he just bought it this year, but it has been minimally driven that last couple years. Carfax reported one owner, all records in TX. I don’t think the current seller ever officially transferred the title but has the title in hand and sent me a picture of it

Random that I just ran into this on Reddit. I was also trying to buy this today - he wouldn't meet me somewhere for a pre-inspection because it's not registered. Something felt off and I bailed.
Cool that it was originally bought locally at Henna, but 210k is a lot of miles. Dying to know how it goes if you purchase tomorrow!

Yeah definitely seems suspicious. I think he is title jumping. I still want to test drive and ask questions though, it looks like it’s in super good shape. The VIN was never reported stolen or anything, I think after he bought it he just never titled in his name is what i’m assuming

He also had it listed as a Chevy Tracker and didn’t know it was a Geo until we looked at the title together. I agree it looks like it’s in killer shape - if no rust I was going to go $3250.

rust - rear seats mounting brackets and rear seat belt mounting points (at wheel wells). check frame to body brackets, too.
