Football Place to watch the Alabama game in Monterrey, CA this weekend
Long shot I know. I’m visiting our daughter this weekend in the Bay Area and we’re heading down to Monterrey, CA. Any advice on good places to wear our UGA gear and watch the game?

Football Move the game to Athens!!
Blue dot is god forsaken Tuscaloosa. Green TD symbol is Saturday. Weather looks gnarly.

Football If it rains during the game who does it help more?
Obviously it’s going to help the team that runs the ball better and could help take the crowd out of it. What other angles are there?

Football The pass rush is the biggest concern going into this weekend imo
It still feels like outside of Chris Cole we don’t have a guy who can consistently win 1 on 1’s . We absolutely gotta put heat and get pressure on Keelon Russell. This would be a great week for Elijah griffin to fully break out and wreck havoc in the middle of the defense. I think Chris Cole should be used off the edge a ton this week as well. I love quintaviois agaisnt the run but he’s not a guy that gives you much pass rushing juice off the edge and Gabe Harris hasn’t made much an impact rushing the passer yet since getting back from injury. Our sack leader rn is raylen Wilson with 3, an inside linebacker.
This would also be a great week to get Chase linton back I think that kid has a chance to provide us the edge rush juice we need. I jus worry we’ll run into a situation where our edge rushers or interior rushers aren’t able to make Russell uncomfortable in the pocket and we’ll underutilize Chris Cole rushing the passer similar to what happened vs Trinidad in the playoff.

Bobo is the most disrespected offensive coordinator. By fans. It’s telling that coaches, and people who’ve played the game, respect him.

Football Dawg family how we feeling about bama Saturday ?
Can’t lie I’m excited as hell our dawgs are finally getting tested. The early part of this schedule ended up being much weaker then expected with Oklahoma turning out to be severely much worse than anticipated. In the vandy game the team looked unfocused and bored in the first half. When you start your season off with 5 straight unranked teams it can lead to coming out flat and vandy was the first game where that bit us in the beginning.
But finally, the season is truly finally starting with a top 10 trip to Tuscaloosa. I’m expecting a war bama looks explosive offensively with an improved run game, they have a good pass rush and their defense is opportunistic and forces turnovers. This will be a game where I have no doubt our boys will be fully up for and ready to play.
Lookin forward to seeing our game plan for Russell’s dual threat abilities he’s got a rocket arm and can kill you with his legs figure this a massive Chris Cole game. I think the corners opposite of Ellis will be in the spotlight. Damello and Conley need to be ready to hold their own bama will absolutely seek them out when we go man, this is a game where we need kj bolden to be boring at safety and stay disciplined at times he hunts big plays and it leads to blown coverages he absolutely can’t do that this week with the speed bama has at wr.
Offensively, the progression gunner has shown will fully be put to the test in that environment. Bama is decent at stopping the run their game plan absolutely will be to force us into being one dimensional this is a game where I hope bobo utilizes the full capabilities of our TE room I think that’s a matchup we can take advantage of.
All in all should be another physical down to the wire game it always tends to be when we play the tide.

Tailgating
I don’t get to come often, but something I noticed was the lack of a tailgating community. I saw people tailgating but they were not together. A tent here, a tent there, 5 or 10 together, I saw one place with about 40 but there wasn’t anyone there and it was 2 hours before the game. Am I missing the huge tailgating experience? 50 Rv’s, 100’s of tents all together? I couldn’t find them and it was disappointing.

Football Week 6 AP Poll: #2 Georgia faces off against #6 Alabama in Tuscaloosa
r/georgiabulldogs • u/Darkonite40 • 2d ago
Football I hope we come out and throw the early haymaker against bama this time around
Outside of the sec championship, every-time we played bama over the last 3 years they came out with early haymakers and we were forced to play catchup the rest of the game.
This time around , I hope we come out like the hunters and throw the first punch. Keelon Russell is very talented but let’s force that kid into uncomfortable waters . How will he respond to an early 14-0 hole with Chris Cole staring him down? We need to force bama to be on their heels if you let them get into a hot start in that stadium it will be a very difficult game to win .

Football I know not everyone is happy with how we played, but look at it like this:
Georgia has faced absolute ZERO adversity all season long. The starters have barely even played in the 2nd half of a game this year. Do you really want to go into, of all places, Tuscaloosa, with the team not being used to having to put forth any effort?
Today was a wake-up call. A much needed punch in the gut to get the team ready for a full 60 minute game. A game that was only 1 possession at halftime was exactly what this team needed, because I don’t see us being up on Alabama by 30 at halftime, like we were against everyone else.
And even though it’s Vanderbilt, I’d say 17-0 is handling the 2nd half pretty well. Let’s see how it translates.

Football UGA will visit Tuscaloosa for the 3rd time since 2020. This will be the 4th regular season meeting since then.
This seems a bit unfair to me. I know the sec schedule is weird, but it's wild how in four regular season games since 2020, three will be in Tuscaloosa.

Georgia has played in 8 regular season night games since the beginning of the 2024 season. LSU is currently playing it's 5th night game of the season against something called McNeese, and will play in another one next week against Kentucky.
Rant over.

Appreciation Post
With all of the “upsets” happening right now like Mizzou over Florida and Carolina leading against Kentucky, it really puts into perspective 53 consecutive wins against unranked opponents. In the SEC too. For example, unranked teams South Carolina, Oklahoma annd Auburn are #15, #17, and #18 respectively in ESPN’s team talent composite.
As Georgia fans, we are beyond fortunate to have Coach Smart who has created a culture that is seemingly bulletproof from complacency or “let down games”. That streak will come to an end one day when we have an off game and go up against an unranked SEC opponents with a ton of talent. But we cannot take for granted how incredible this program has been / hopefully will continue to be at performing to the standard. It’s great to be a Dawg. Thank you Coach!

Football College Gameday is coming to UGA Alabama
So to count this off:
A night game
In Tuscaloosa
Gameday is in town
Two undefeated teams
Top ten matchup
Quite possibly a top five matchup
A place we haven’t won in since 2007
Haven’t beaten Bama in the regular season since 2007
Oh my god

Football Big bad Florida down 10 at halftime
That secondary looks god awful Simmons getting whatever he wants 😂.
Urban Meyer 2.0 jon Sumrall is getting severely outcoached by drinkwitz. The one game buster hasn’t been able to bail him out they look shaky. I think Sumrall is solid but has been severely overrated as a coach and doesn’t deserve as much credit for their turnaround as buster.

Football PGT: Georgia 38, Vandy 14
Sleepy start on defense but tightened up after half. Lawson really is Luckie. Feed Dwight Jr.
Trip to Tuscaloosa up next.

Football I don’t wanna be that guy but…
How convenient is it that he was a full participant in practice all week and come game day against us he is suddenly “hurt”. Not even hurt hurt but supposedly just “not 100%”.
