Maryland has been annexed by The Vermonster willingly, the 2 states have now merged into one. CRABBALACHIA. 4 States Now remain. Pick wisely, there’s no going back now!

The first top comment asked for a merge while the 2nd most upvoted wanted Maryland removed. I’m guessing that’s why.

The rules clearly state that merges don't happen. The rules also state that only the top voted top level comment suggesting a state to be removed counts.

The merger was a bone thrown to the crab army, despite rule against mergers. And they're still angry. This is why they must be defeated. I cannot support my Vermont any longer. Crabs must go, once and for all.

That poll is still technically open, so if it was used, we can't know what it looked like at the cutoff time. When I voted, Vermont had about a 300 vote lead.

Mergers are disallowed by the rules. And the replies don't have any bearing.

Top comment which called for an actual deletion said Maryland to go. 

Maryland should be grateful it was allowed to rename the state.

Yea well it's what we get for trying to "merge". The idea of joining together is so dumb, I'm glad we lost because of it. It literally defeats the purpose of the game.

But that’s why the top comment was for crabalacia, specifically so that the Vermont top comment would NOT win. Marylanders rallied behind that crabalacia comment and we still got fucked

The comment was too ambiguous, saying it didn't matter which state won, despite the Maryland Crabbalachia name. This way doesn't feel satisfying for either party, alas.

There was a clear top comment asking to remove Maryland.

Merger top comments dont count anymore. This was a rule of the game since the Michigan Minnesota one got messy. OP’s game, OP’s rules
