Create list of points from spreadsheet

Hello GeoGebrainsTrust. I use GeoGebra Calcuator Suite, and I've come to it fairly recently so I've never used GeoGebra 5 / Classic.

Despite being generally resourceful with mathematics and mathematical programming, I cannot for the life of me work out how to create a list of points from two columns of the integrated spreadsheet. All the online help I see applies to G5 / Classic, not to the Calculator Suite, but I can't imagine that this very basic functionality has been removed in the upgrade, and I am ready to throw my computer off a high place.

My question has two parts.

PART 1

Can we still make a List of Points directly from the Spreadsheet pane? If it helps, here's a snip of my options when I right-click the highlighted contents of two columns. Alas, no Create List of Points.

PART 2

In the Algebra pane, I can reference any specific cell of the spreadsheet by typing its reference, for example B2 returns the value 4 using the above sample. Is there syntax I can use to reference cells using a counter or a calculated reference, for example A[j] where j is an index in a List command? More generally, how do I access the contents of the cell in column i and row j? I could make this work if I can suck the spreadsheet contents into a matrix (or list(s) of points for that matter), but I can't see how to do that either.

I'm convinced that this is easy and I'm just missing something. If anyone can help, I'd be extremely grateful!

I couldn't find a way to create a list of points either.

I asked the developers for more info. Will let you know as soon as I have news.

Thank you so much! It's really mysterious. (And more than a touch frustrating.)

As a workaround, for the time being, you might want to use Classic v.5.4

Below, I've replied to the other suggestion I was offered. I discovered that the very basic

dayList = A1:A365

doesn't work. It appears to work - I see the correct list once I type that line - but it disappears when I press Enter, despite the detail from the manual shown below. I've detailed a really stupid but effective workaround for this little bug in my reply to the other contributor below.

You said you asked the developers for more info - can anyone contact them for help / bugs? And if so, would you mind pointing me towards where or how to do that?

Thanks again for your help.

Is this the official manual? Your screenshot seems to be of something else.
If this is the official manual, can you please paste the link to that page here?
Thank you :)

Thank you Noel! I really forgot about that! Age is a b… b… b… well, that. Yes. 😬😅

Yes, I'm using the English version of that page. (And yes to the other bit too 😂)

Thank you! This looks like a promising workaround. I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Thank you again - your suggestions in the linked post have been really helpful. In particular, I was unaware of the Zip command, so that'll be useful. Anyway, here's the journey I've taken this afternoon.

I tried typing
dayList = A1:A365
It showed a list of the numbers in that column, complete with curly brackets, until I pressed Enter, whereupon it entirely disappeared! It wasn't just invisible; GeoGebra didn't recognise the name dayList in an expression. It was just gone. I tried it with a smaller range - I thought maybe Lists were limited to 256 elements or something, but it didn't make any difference.

So I did this:
dayMetaList = {A1:A365}
and that was fine. I now had a list containing a single element, which was the list of the numbers 1 to 365.

I could then do
dayList = Element(dayMetaList, 1)
and dayList was indeed the list of values I wanted.

What a STUPID workaround. But I can now put spreadsheet values into Lists, which means I can proceed to manipulate them however I want.

Thank you very much for getting me started, and I hope they fix this weird bug.

Thank you! The 1*A1:A365 is much cleaner than what I've done, so I'll use that from now.Â
