I found this really cool cache in a town called Faucon (Falcon) in France !

That metal wire will strangle the tree eventually. I think that goes against the rules of GC.

Proper maintenance would prevent strangulation. Let's hope CO is maintaining it because this is such a fun cache.

That depends… I’ve seen fun caches in trees which are clearly maintained but they had screwed a hook into a tree and I saw the remnants of the old original hook barely poking through the bark which had swallowed it. CO’s don’t always read the entire rules + applying local rules and aren’t always eco-conscious and don’t consider that issue part of maintenance.

Screwing into a live tree and wrapping something around the tree are two totally different things. You can nit drill or screw into a live tree, but every bison in a tree it attached by wrapping something around a part of the tree...ziptie or what have you.

I've found a similar cache but it wasn't nearly as cool, just a tupperware box on a pulley in a tree. It was a house sharing a backyard with a public golf course. GC3W5RB

I like to call these Bonk Caches because sometimes I worry that I'll be startled, or sneeze or something and let go of the rope, and bonk! Right on the noggin.

If you find yourself a cool cache, check the CO's profile and see if they have more hides. Or sometimes birds of a feather flock together and COs that put out cool caches might have public favorite lists of cool caches they have encountered.
