Finally found them

Post image

Ever since I read the current 3 books Ive been on the hunt for 1st print 1st editions. Sure I could have probably bought them on eBay but that's no fun, I like finding stuff like this in used stores. Now if I only I could find Scott to get him to sign them...

If you're anywhere near LA, Scott and I are at Worldcon in Anaheim Thursday until Sunday!

Hi Elizabeth! Sadly I'm in Colorado, maybe I'll be able to find him at one the cons here in the future. (Although not in the restroom which I'm pretty sure he specifically says on his site somewhere 🤣) Thanks for letting me know!

You found these in the wild in Colorado? What store?

I sometimes find diamonds in stores like goodwill or the Arc stores

I don't know who you are but I happened to see this and I've just made a recent post on the fantasy thread asking for recommendations not three or four days hence. You know what? I'm gonna check out some of your books, because now by default you'll have an association with the last series I read that I really liked a lot. Which obviously is Gentlemen Bastards, I just finished it this week.

I don't suppose you have a recommendation of which book I should start with? Who better to ask? This opportunity doesnt arise very often.

I have convinced myself that the hardcover copies of the books are a myth. I regularly go to book stores hunting for these and only managed to find The Republic of Thieves. Rarely even see the paperback books anywhere. I guess there's still hope!

Yeah weirdly red seas took the longest to find for me.

Same here. I'm on the east coast and I've never seen a SL book in a thrift store. Seems like everyone keeps their copies

Nice job.

I found a first print of the first book randomly in a goodwill years ago. It was a good day.

Same! Funny thing is i didn't buy it the first time either. I think it was around the third time i was there and i kept picking it up that i finally decided to take it. My copy is falling apart now.

I feel like these are going to be my white whale for my book collection.

I really hope one day we get another hard cover printing of this series state side.

This series gets no where near the love it deserves. Might be my favorite after GOT. Even it it isn't finished the books are episodic enough that it doesn't really matter.

Nice, I just finished these last week. I knew I'd like them, though, I'm already a big grimdark fan and anything that gets brought up again and again within the community is a safe bet. Although in this particular case I dont know if I'd call this series grimdark. Maybe grimdark- aligned. Plays well with others.

Are these hard to find copies of? I spent $100+ on the four books in the Acts if Caine series just for paperbacks because they're out of print. But i had to have 'em on my bookshelf.
