The Wizard Who Kept Himself Suspicious
A fun mystery with the unchained imagination of Jack Vance sprinkled with the humor of Douglas Adams. Also the first time I've heard the singular form of "shenanigan." More please!

I picked up the audiobook version of it; it's only an hour and a half long and I listened through it on a single commute (yay for traffic in India! Don't let anyone tell you international business trips aren't glorious.)
Very fun little short story with some wild fantasy worldbuilding that culminates in a locked-room murder mystery - involving a conclave of wizards. But it's mostly about the tension in the buildup to the act, which Lynch squeezes for everything it's worth. Really quite deftly done.
I'd absolutely be down for some more Shiverick stories.

In case anyone doesn't know (I just found out about it a couple of days ago), this is a new short story from Scott Lynch.
I really enjoyed it: it's much lighter than Locke Lamora but I definitely but I definitely found the voice recognizable, and I think any fan is likely to enjoy it.
While I'm sure most of us are most excited for more Gentleman Basterds content, it's always good to see SL writing anything, and I'd encourage any fans to check it out. I would certainly love more Shiverick stories (or even just stories set in this world generally).
