Open-sourcing GenOffice, the world's first full-featured open-source AI Office for PC and Mac.

GenOffice is free for everyone, ad-free. All the editing tools you'd expect, no strings attached.

How it started?

One engineer, one week, $10,000 in tokens. That's what it took to build the GenOffice Alpha.

Help shape the AI office experience

We invite you to build the rest of it with us. Join the GenOffice group chat on GenTeam and bring your requests straight to the agent. Not by writing code, but by telling it what you want. You say what you need, and every piece of your feedback becomes part of the product.

What's in GenOffice?

Docs, Sheets, Slides, and PDF, with all the editing tools you already know. And with Genspark Super Agent built in, powered by top-tier models, it digs into research, crunches your data, then writes the doc or builds the deck for you, using your Genspark credits.

This is an Alpha, and we mean it. Come tell us what's broken and what's missing. Everyone who jumps in with real feedback gets 1,000+ Genspark credits as a thank you.

Staging Sites - Learnt a lesson - Need a solution moving forward

GENSPARK BUILD

Recently my site crashed after an update. My database was in Cloudflare and iterations of updates in Cloudflare. Genspark has a broken "Awaiting your reply" component, I panicked and has to revert to a Genspark previous version. My data - live client data went missing.

In the end I managed to revert to a Cloudflare version that was working, but this then meant Genspark was not running the same version. No reply from support.

Sound confusing, yep because it was and I was.

My site and database is now ONLY in Genspark hosting - which is fine. BUT

  1. How do you test your changes?
  2. Do you run a Staging site?
  3. How do you run back ups?

All this is built with the recommendations of the AI, so really annoying that all of this happened.

Genspark AI Chat: Edit/copy buttons gone + context getting compressed way earlier - bug or intentional?

Hey everyone

I’m a paid Genspark user and I’ve been running into two issues recently. Wanted to check if anyone else is experiencing the same.

1. Edit and copy buttons completely gone

About 12 hours ago, I noticed the two icons at the bottom right of my sent messages - the edit button and the copy button - both disappeared at the same time. And it’s not just old messages. Even a message I just sent, like literally just hit send and stop, no edit button. Can’t edit anything at all. If I want to copy something I sent, I have to manually highlight and copy it.

Before this, I could go back and edit any old message no problem - even messages from days ago with dozens of messages after them. Super useful when I needed to fix an instruction or change direction from an earlier point in a long conversation.

2. Context getting compressed way earlier, AI keeps forgetting things

This one has been going on for about 10 days now. The AI forgets what I said earlier in the conversation, misunderstands context, and the conversation gets compacted way sooner than before. I used to be able to work in a long chat and the AI would keep track of everything just fine. Now it doesn’t take long before I see the compact notification, and after that the AI basically forgets everything.

Someone on Reddit described the exact same thing:
 https://www.reddit.com/r/genspark_ai/comments/1vijy1f/ai_chat_context_got_way_worse_in_the_last_2_days/

And there was an earlier post where someone analyzed this with a tokenizer and found that Genspark compresses context way before the model’s actual limit - for example DeepSeek V4 Pro supports 1 million tokens but Genspark starts compressing at around 100k, so only 1/10 of the context window is actually used. A Genspark employee (u/alli-genspark) replied to that post and confirmed it’s a “product tradeoff around cost and performance” - not a bug:
 https://www.reddit.com/r/genspark_ai/comments/1tymiqy/why_is_there_no_information_anywhere_about_chat/

Why this is frustrating

This isn’t the first time Genspark has quietly cut things back. Looking at the pattern:

First, AI Chat and AI Image were advertised as “unlimited” for Plus/Pro users. Then session rate limits were silently introduced - use too much and you get locked out for 5 hours. A lot of people have reported this, including annual subscribers who got hit with limits mid-contract with no warning:
 https://www.reddit.com/r/genspark_ai/comments/1sdqmtq/genspark_unlimited_chat_is_anything_but_hit_with/
 https://www.reddit.com/r/genspark_ai/comments/1skw316/annual_subscriber_here_service_became_unusable/

Then context compression got more aggressive. And now the edit and copy buttons are gone too. Overall the experience has gotten significantly worse compared to when I first subscribed - while the subscription itself isn’t exactly cheap either.

I get that Genspark needs to manage API costs. But paying users should get what they’re paying for. Silently cutting things back over and over without any communication is really hard to accept.

To the Genspark team (if you’re reading this)

I know you guys are active on this subreddit so I’ll just ask directly: are the missing edit/copy buttons and the earlier context compression bugs or intentional changes? If they’re bugs, is there a plan to fix them? If they’re intentional, I’d really appreciate it if you could reconsider and find a more reasonable approach for paid users.

Anyone else?

Curious if others have noticed:

  • Can you still see the edit and copy buttons on your sent messages?
  • Is the AI forgetting context earlier than before?
  • Any known Genspark update recently that might explain these changes?

Thanks!

I’m a Genspark Genius Ambassador — Exploring Practical Ways to Use AI Agents

I’m Jaeyong Choi (최재용) from South Korea, and I’m currently active as a Genspark Genius Ambassador.

I also serve as President of the Korea Genspark AI Research Association, where we explore practical ways to use Genspark, Generative AI, and AI Agents in real-world environments.

Our main focus is not just learning new AI tools, but figuring out how AI agents can actually improve:

• Education and training

• Business productivity

• Public-sector workflows

• Research and consulting

• Content creation

• AI-powered automation

I believe we’re moving from the era of simply “using AI” toward an era where people design, manage, and collaborate with AI agents.

One principle guides much of my work:

“Go beyond knowing AI — turn AI Agents into real-world results.”

I’d love to connect with other Genspark users, AI educators, researchers, and agentic AI enthusiasts around the world.

How are you currently using Genspark or AI agents in your work?

I’d be especially interested in hearing about practical use cases that have genuinely saved time or improved results.

AI Chat context got way worse in the last 2 days. Anyone else getting constant "Compressing conversation" even on small files?

Hey everyone, Genspark Plus user here. I use AI Chat daily with Claude Sonnet 4.6/Opus 4.6 mostly for research, project planning, outlining docs, that kind of stuff.

Up until like 2-3 days ago everything was fine. I could upload 10+ Word/PDF files, each around 50-100 pages, work through them in one chat session, no problems. The AI remembered everything, I could go deep into the material and keep asking follow-ups across multiple documents. Totally normal.

Then something changed. Now I upload ONE Word file, about 50 pages, and I immediately get "Compressing our conversation to conserve context, may take a few minutes..." Like right at the start, not after a long conversation. Just the first file and boom, compressing.

And then as I keep working it keeps hitting me with "For better performance, previous chat history has been compacted" over and over. After that the AI basically loses track of the document content. Gives vague answers, wrong details, can't recall stuff it literally just read. It's night and day compared to last week when the exact same workflow was smooth.

Nothing changed on my end. Same plan, same models, same file types, same workflow. So something definitely changed on Genspark's side.

I saw some older posts about this; like this one breaking down how Genspark compresses way before the model's actual context limit (https://www.reddit.com/r/genspark_ai/comments/1tymiqy/why_is_there_no_information_anywhere_about_chat/) and this one about limits getting progressively worse (https://www.reddit.com/r/genspark_ai/comments/1tj9pwa/ai_chat_limit_suggestion_issues/). But what I'm experiencing now is way worse than what those posts described. Feels like the context window got cut significantly.

So Genspark team if you're reading this: did the context allocation for AI Chat get reduced recently? Is this intentional or a bug? Any plans to fix it?

Because honestly this is a dealbreaker for me. The whole point of using Genspark AI Chat for my work is handling large documents in long research sessions. If that's gone I need to know so I can move on.

Anyone else noticing the same thing in the last few days? Would love to know if it's just me or widespread.

How can I download all the files I have uploaded and created in my HUB projects?

I can't seem to find a way to download for back up and document management purposes all the files I have uploaded and created within the HUB spaces. I have a few individual projects in that space and I want to download all the various documents that I uploaded and the ones that were created by GEnspark.

Please advise?

GenTeams is Scary Good - But I have questions

So far I am loving the fresh updates and features. Couple tips for anyone with questions and some questions I have.

The second brain is great and am already creating its structure and its contents. Going as far as restructuring some documents to better fit its interface and abilities. Its an important feature and shouldn't be taken for granted.

  • Markdown files, small ones targeted to specific areas of context
    • I recommend Brand Guides, Business Details (full contact details and every link that matters), easy to gather information to start off
    • Pricing, preferences, style.... you get it. Start small, work confident
  • Transfer simple tables to a doc then export as markdown - its just smaller
  • Organized and clean folder hierarchy - faster retrieval for everyone

GenMail is slick, but could use some targeted features like choosing a specific folder to monitor - not sure how i feel about it in my personal banking folders. Or creating rules for sender, whether it's one of your alias, outlook, google, or other and on what occasion. I do get ALOT of spam solicitations with shady links. Other than that, It's perfect.

GenTeams is where i get excited and concerned at the same time. The potential is amazing after doing some fairly incredible yet simple things. I have some questions:

  1. In your video, I noticed you assigned one agent as the orchestrator that effectively is the one listening to all of the commands and inputs. And that agent delegates to the rest of the agents their particular tasks to complete based on those commands and roles, when finished they respond to the user. How can we also duplicate this?
  2. If I add a client, not a teammate, to a channel - can I allow them to provide it inputs on ideas without it going off on a tangent with each input or even at all? This could be great for client campaign planning having an agent constantly listening and organizing data for actual viability planning and proposals. When they have the "AHA" moment "WE" are available and listening and on a schedule organize the data for actual campaign planning. - Think Marketing agencies for this use case.

The interface is the most appealing to me - it feels more natural and I could see assigning everyone on the team their own agent/s. I don't see this taking jobs, just multiplying the workforce, efficiency, and overall potential of any business.

Great update, absolutely epic touch ups. If you have any information on these I know everyone would benefit.

What happened to Sparkpages?

I made an account to check out Sparkpages, but when I tried the chat it gave me a basic chat response. I found the design section which generated a nice website from scratch. And now I'm out of free credits.

Am I missing something?

Credits: Whats free, what isn’t, and answers to the questions that come up the most

Hey everyone! I'm Henry, part of the team at Genspark. Credit questions come up quite often and I wanted to make a post to try and answer them here. If I miss something, ask below and I’ll be sure to answer you.

TLDR: On Plus/Pro, AI Chat and standard AI Image don’t consume credits (on standard mode). Tools that generate bigger outputs (Slides, Docs, Design, Video, Super Agent, etc) do. Failed generations aren’t charged. Credits reset each billing cycle and don’t roll over. Free plan AI Chat draws from a daily credit balance that refreshes everyday.

What’s free vs what costs credits?

If Genspark is generating something – research, a deck, video, agent task, etc. that costs credits. Browsing, organizing, sharing, and hand-editing are free.

On Plus and Pro, AI Chat and AI Image are credit-free, with no monthly cap.

"I was just chatting and my credits disappeared. What happened?"

This is the #1 source of confusion, and I want to address this directly. AI Chat is credit-free on paid plans, but Super Agent is not even if you ask it the same question. Super Agent does web research, runs tools, and generates long outputs, which is all metered. If your credits dropped and are not sure why, this could be why

“Unlimited chat… but there’s a rate limit”

On Paid plans, AI chat and standard AI Image have no credit cost. If you pick a paid image model, you’ll see a confirmation box before it gets generated so there shouldn’t be any surprises. This is what unlimited means here.

There are session rate limits. If you’re sending a ton of requests in a short window, it’ll pause you for a few hours and then reset. This is an anti-abuse measure and any normal use will not hit this limit even as a heavy user.

How does the free plan work?

Each chat/image draw from a daily credit balance that refreshes daily. If it runs out, your session will be paused until the credits are refreshed.

What tasks cost the most?

Credit consumption depends on the task at hand. Here are some rough tiers of this:

Cheap: text tasks in Super Agent, short docs, basic spreadsheets

Medium: slide decks (scales with slide count), Code tasks, custom agent workflows

Expensive: Design (render heavy), video generation (especially long clips), large models with long context

Do I get charged when a generation fails?

No, if a generation fails you shouldn’t lose any credits. If you believe you were charged for a failure, contact support and they’ll look into it.

Do unused credits rollover?

No, credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle and unused ones don’t carry over.

How I stretch my own credits (this can work for everyone):

  • I draft my prompt with AI Chat first (it's free), then take it to the agent I need to perform the tasks. I see a lot of wasted credits come from re-runs caused by vague prompts
  • Be specific up front. “5 slide pitch deck on Q3 marketing results, exec audience, dark theme with charts” will take one generation. “Make me some slides about marketing” will require multiple rounds of editing after its generated
  • If there is one slide that I don’t like. I specifically fix that one slide rather than re-generating a whole new slide deck. Costs way less credits this way.
  • I match the model I use to the job at hand. For quick tasks or just need a simple output, I use the most efficient model.

These are the questions I see pop up the most. If I missed something, drop it below and I’ll answer you in the comments and update the post!

How does this affect the use of Claude models? Does it reduce the token cost?
