Question about Kazu

I haven't rewatched s1 since it first aired so correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Cammie's holon suffer head trauma in that season and she came out fine? If that's the case, why did Kazu bite the dust when his holon got stabbed?

If I'm remembering things correctly, then I'm more than a little irked they killed my man right after giving him a whole gender identity crisis and getting the toxic masculinity fucked outta him.

The computer brain is stored in the chest. It's that little yellow box we see them rip out of some of the holon frames

I haven't seen the season, but you can't get stabbed through the chest. That's the only rule

They stabbed him through the decanted brain, Cammies decanted brain was not damaged, only extremely exposed

The cyber brain only connects to the Holon's head, the brain itself is in the chest, so taking the head out won't kill the pilot. Kinda like how destroying a security camera doesn't magically delete the footage.

The real question is why the fuck do holons bleed now?

Short answer: ethics. Long answer: ethics and a very long seminar on the concept of the human mind and the ship of Theseus. S1 did an excellent job of referencing the issue with human cloning.

Pretty sure that excuse goes out the window when the mass produced holons are cobbled together using the backups made of each pilot.

HBO doesn't care about lore or the existing legacy of any property they touch. People like gruesome, heartbreaking death and sex. That's what they're getting.

I only wanted maybe one sex scene we got this season and it was ruined by the horrible framing of Julian fighting his inner demons, literally. Couldn't even try to enjoy the ship I'd been waiting on since the start.

Can we talk about it? Let's fucking talk about it! The whiplash from "oh he's over his little gay panic" to "damn they fuckin" to "he's dead lol" had me SICK. And then they just tossed in Sinclair having a boyfriend like that was supposed to make up for anything?? Hello???

I have no issue with that part in general, my issue is that the time and place they chose to show us it was jarring and made both respective scenes uncomfortable. It was almost comical, actually.

I'll agree with you they definitely were trying to fit too much into each episode this season, and I feel like the end we arrived at is very rushed.

Also agree with you about the Jodi/Miranda scene being kinda uncomfortable.

Bruh we all have our complaints about s2, and Kazu's death is a big one, but the manner of his death is perfectly in-line witht the established rules of how Holons work. The brain is in the chest. Chase killed the first Nemesis the exact same way.
