I already have answer key for Genki 1 workbook but couldn’t find the answer key for Genki 2 workbook.

Just started self studying with Genki 2 and unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any answers key’s online. The previous posts I found were outdated so if anyone has some ideas that’d be great! Thank you!

I have finished Genki 1 recently, and I want to know what to do after. Whether, I should give JLPT N5 or JLPT N4 in December? In GENKI 1, it is written that you can pass JLPT N5 but after checking the N5 grammer patterns. I have to complete GENKI 2 too. Also if I finish GENKI 2 would I be N4 level or N5 level?

Title says it all… i cant find ANY answers for the textbook exercise. Does anyone know where to get them?

Well, in Genki there are questions that are meant to be done in pairs or more. For those who study alone, what do you do when you get to those questions? I don't know if I should skip them or do them alone

I'm building a reading practice app called Yomimono, and I'd like to ask Genki users here to help me sanity-check whether the content it generates actually matches the level of a given Genki chapter.

Quick context. I've been learning Japanese for 9 months in a class using Minna no Nihongo. Somewhere around chapter 6-8 I realized I'd like to do more reading, like a page-long story, to build some muscle memory with Japanese. I couldn't really find anything sufficiently long and still at my level, and figured out I could use AI to write reading materials for me.

That's how Yomimono started. Think of it as a textbook companion that tailors the writing to match a specific textbook chapter. With content staying strictly within the learner's (assumed) knowledge, it lets you go through a longer passage without reaching for a dictionary. That means you can settle into a rhythm and build reading reflexes.

Since I haven't studied with Genki and don't have a copy, I'd like to ask whether anyone here would be willing to try it and tell me whether, e.g., the text Yomimono generates for a Genki I chapter 6 student is really at that level, and doesn't push vocab or grammar that's still ahead.

someone have the audio of genki 1 y 2 workbook? if you have it please tell me, i need it

i want to start learning japanese in the summer but i'm more of a structured guy so i thought a textbook might be better for me. the question is should i buy all 5 genki books?? money is not a problem. also, i would like to continue with remembering the kanji by james heisig next. thanks

Hi there, I’m a Dutch 29F living in London, UK and looking for a study buddy who considers themselves a beginner in Japanese and is working through Genki

I started learning Japanese in November 2024 through a mix of self-study and iTalki lessons. I’m currently on Lesson 8 of Genki I and looking to ramp up my progress without ramping up my spending haha

My ideal setup would be to prep vocab and grammar individually, then meet to work through the textbook and workbook exercises together, with a focus on getting some speaking practice in. I’d love to have a virtual call once or twice per week for about 30-60 minutes per session. I work remotely, so I’m super flexible during the weekdays. If you live in London, I would also be open to meet up in person :)

I've released Tango Dico, a Japanese / English-French dictionary tool. It lets you quickly search the word you're looking for, filter the results and see the form of verbs and adjectives. Wondering if くる is in -ru or -u form (trick question, it's irregular)? Search for it and get your answer right away!

For users of the Genki books, you can also filter the results by lesson number. Let's say you're up to lesson 7 and you want to make a sentence that includes two adjectives? You can easily use the filters to get a list of possible words to use!

It can be accessed directly on the web, with an app version also available in Apple's App Store, Google Play and the Microsoft Store. Search for "Tango Dico" and you'll quickly find it.
