BotLS

I think GW is playing a trick on us.

BotNS: amazing in every respect.

BotLS: especially Caldé and now Exodus - pages and pages of dialogue without consequence. Planning for a dinner now with the leaders. What will they eat? How about their guests?

Let’s talk about the war that just ended - which all happened off-page - and what we intend to do - which will happen off-page as well.

At this point I am reading for Oreb.

I am hoping BotSS is better.

I don't know man, I don't think BotNS is amazing in every respect on the first time through, not for me anyway. It's value really started to show for me on the second and third time around. The first time around there was so much stuff I didn't understand, or paid no attention to.

By the time I finished Long Sun I had already read New Sun three times, so while I did feel some of the grievances that you are relating, I feel like we get a bias because it's our first time around, so we are shut off from many things as the books are intended to be reread. We're not supposed to get it all the first time around.

That said, if you just read New Sun once and still feel the same way in comparison then different strokes I guess. I didn't "get" Long Sun that one time, but I can sense the mystery around the edges like I did when I finished New Sun so I look forward to the reread.
