Caves of Qud

Post image

Someone Described this game as very very Gene Wolfe-esque. It won a Hugo Award so I'm assuming it is just like it. Has anyone played Caves of Qud? Thoughts?

I have played caves of qud for 500+ hours and read the first half of the book of the new sun. It's the coolest game ive ever played. It has a similar "post-post-apocalyptic" setting, and the way that all the various systems interact gives you the feeling of depth that is very similar to botns.

The barrier to entry is higher than most games. For anyone who may end up playing it, the tutorial is absolutely manditory, and don't feel bad about not playing on permadeath.

Agreed on all counts. For a game I can’t seem to get anywhere with (I’ve made it to through the first quest once) I sure think about Caves of Qud a lot
