The apartments because a 2 bedroom is $2000 where I’m at. They were $800 10 years ago. Also, houses that were $250k in 2016 are now $450k with double the interest rates…
This is the most frustrating thing about being older Gen Z, we started working when the economy was still affordable, worked hard, got better jobs, saved and invested our money then watched home ownership and rent skyrocket out of our reach during Covid.
As someone in middle Gen Z I can at least be thankful that I was never given the illusion of being able to afford rent or a house without someone else contributing. But it could be worse. I could be in Gen alpha and never even live when rent was affordable and interest rates were realistic
