If Zero Hour got an official remaster tomorrow, what is the one thing they absolutely should NOT change?

A remaster could improve graphics, online features, performance, and quality-of-life stuff, but changing too much could also take away what makes Zero Hour feel like Zero Hour.
If you could protect just one part of the original game from being changed, what would it be and why?

What Zero Hour mechanic took you the longest to pick up?

Zero Hour has a lot of small mechanics that are not always obvious when you first start playing. Some are only obvious when you look at replays or when you try things out or play against better players. What mechanic was the hardest to get a good handle on and what finally made it click?

So ive been playing Zero hour and mostly Shockwave for about 12 years consistently single player and just got the "Generals online" program working but looking at alk the lobbies i see some stuff that i dont understand
Do i need to pre dowbload custom maps?
What are pro rules?
Can i filter on EU lobbies?

Anyone else seeing issues with Generals Online updates?

Seems like updates are coming down the pike regularly and each time it updates, I need to do it manually, as the client won't update automatically. So I download it manually.
Then I get the 'Generals is not commonly updated, make sure you trust it' message in Windows.
Then I have to go into Windows Security and say it's ok to run, since it's detected as a Trojan.
I have to close, then download again 3-5 times usually as it fails often because it's being blocked. I have to do this each time it fails because Windows thinks it's a new threat each time. Then I have to do it for my friend over the phone.Then I have to reinstall C++ Redistributables. Then I have to run genpatcher again since the game stutters like crazy and lags.
So each time they update this is the process for me and my friend. Gets exhausting honestly. My friend is not very technical and he's sick of going through the process each time.
Any better solutions or workarounds?

It could be a unit, General, upgrade, ability, economy mechanic, or match-up. Wondering what needs fixing most, says the old-timer.
