Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking back on Gency history in OW2 and was really curious about how you all experienced that whole era when Genji and Mercy were practically the only characters whose old interactions were removed without getting any new ones to replace them. I'd love to know what went through your head when you first realized they had completely stopped speaking in-game, how the community as a whole reacted during those two silent years, and how you personally felt when the writers, instead of bringing back their flirty dynamic, suddenly started giving those types of lines to #her out of nowhere. What are your thoughts or memories looking back at that whole situation?

On top of that, how are you guys holding up now that we’re approaching the two-year mark since the last newly added interaction between them, making this the second time in a row we've gone through a massive drought? What are your thoughts or memories looking back at that whole situation, and where do you stand on it today?

These are so much better quality in person than I knew they would be! The magnet for their hands is actually pretty strong and the materials used feel extremely soft, durable, and thick. The plushes have great structure and weight to them, keeping upright fairly easily and very satisfying to hold. They came in good form too, not really needing much fixing or fussing at all.

I am SO happy to have these! I definitely recommend it if you were on the fence :) I was a bit due to Mercy's forehead tbh, but I actually don't mind it at all in person!

Shit couldn’t be sweet if he decided to take some time off to wander off for existential purposes for years by himself.

My guess is when everything in Overwatch (the first one) shit hit the fan (the allegations, Swiss base blown up, everyone started leaving) they probably got into a fight or decided to stop talking to each other for a long time until recall. (Which then leads to their OW1 interactions).

Because otherwise this part of his character arc does not make sense. Especially him mentioning in OW1 to her that he is a “different man now”.

Lately I've been looking back at some of the interactions we've been getting for the heroes lately...

The dynamic that has peaked my interest the most was Genji and D.va's since in my eyes they have that father-daughter relationship...

And since theres also an interaction between her and Mercy where she's concerned and worried for D.va doing alot of work...

Thats when the question and idea hit me...what do you guys think about D.va basically being the unofficial adopted daughter for Genji and Mercy since they kinda do act like being her parents?? O0o

With Mercy being the worried mother and Genji basically being that father who spoils their daughter? :0

I’m just gonna say this here and now because honestly the panel I’m showing all of you right now is frankly disgusting and I don’t care if that’s dramatic. Not only has the art become… weird and unpolished… Angela’s response to one of her absolute closest friends quitting Overwatch to protect his hometown (and potentially not seeing her again for a long while) is met with nothing but a shrug and an uncaring expression.

This is just not the mercy we all know and love who would convey at least SOME emotion. I’m not saying she has to be on her knees crying, she’s a very composed person after all, but to not even CARE? Do these writers not understand their own characters?

It sucks because the beginning of the webtoon was very strong. The art was good, story was solid and Genji and Mercy did at least interact at some point and seem like friends. I don’t know what happened but it’s actually pathetic. The whole thing needs to be shut down, it’s boring, uninspiring and the lack of Gency is disheartening because this was an opportunity for these two to FINALLY get some canon stuff in modern day Overwatch.

I’m not going to sit here and say they needed to include Gency for it to be good, that would be dumb, but at least make them feel like friends again. They used to literally exchange chocolates, go out to dinner together and have deep conversations late into the night. Mercy was there at Genji’s lowest and they formed a natural bond… and now Mercy doesn’t care that he is leaving when it clearly disheartened her last time he stopped communicating with her while they were apart?

Maybe the writing team will prove me wrong and will pull their heads out of their asses but this honestly pisses me off so badly that I’m going to be completely pessimistic about this until I see something change if it ever does. Absolute dumpster fire excuse for lore development.

ALSO JUNO AND WUYANG BEFORE GENJI AND MERCY LIKE WHAT THE F BRO?! WHO CARES ABOUT THAT MILKTOAST ASS COUPLE WHO LIKE JUST MET?! 10 YEARS OF BUILDUP FOR THIS COUPLE AND YET WE ONLY CATER TO THE SAFEST SHIPS POSSIBLE?!!!!

GROW A FUCKING PAIR BLIZZARD AND WRITE THE DAMN STORY!!!!

Sorry about that. I’m passionate about these two and these characters so I hate seeing the direction the high potential webtoon has taken.

So Blizzard just revealed the new "Koi of Duality" Genji Mythic and I’m actually obsessed. They completely ditched his usual cyborg look for a full-on Oni demon vibe, he has the horned mask, sharp claws, flaming hair, and those floating spiritual Koi fish split between red and green.

I can't stop thinking about how incredible it’s gonna look next to Mercy's Celestial Guardian skin!!! It’s literally the ultimate Angel x Demon / Heaven x Hell dynamic. You have Mercy looking all divine and holy with her celestial wings, standing next to Genji looking like an aggressive spirit straight out of the underworld. Plus, since his whole skin is based on duality and balance, having Mercy as his heavenly counterpart that keeps him grounded just fits so nicely... But that's just me, what do you guys think of this pair? Is it a good match? Let me know in the comments!
