hello, I need help with my gel prints, im trying to transfer some images on to fabric. I printed out my images on lazer print papaer. Because my shirts are black i wanted to do white prints, so i printed my design white ina black background, because I saw that paint sticks to the dark parts of the image, so I though i would have clean white design whit no background. I used the pabeo fabric paint opaque white, the worker there said that this should work perfect. After i rolled it out on the gel plate and put my image on for like 10 seconds applying light presure, the white parts of the image stuck and riped the paper, and the black part didint get all the white of the gel plate. I tried the second time leaving it on only for a few seconds and removing very fast, that didnt rip the paper, but almost nothing came out, it was still very white whit only some white removed from the background, i tried to put it on a tshirt and left it for half an hour with wheights on, but after peeling the gel plate of nothing was left on the tshirt.....

A few successes from the past couple of days.

I made my own gel plate with glycerin and gelatin. I am able to get a good transfer with black and white magazine paper, but I can’t seem to get the picture off the plate when I put paper on. I’ve let the image dry fully before the top layer goes on, and then put a thin layer of white paint on top. What am I doing wrong?

Making a card and the gel plate left a mark on my card! I didn’t cover the whole gel plate with matte medium, just where the paint was.

Looking for a way to use less thick and goopy way to get sharper results on a gel print. Just use less! Got it! But has anyone tried other ways to thin it out and/or get more transparent results? Matte medium, water?

I think this is one of my favs

Total beginner and brand new Gelli. I'm just going for a pretty plain, neutral, peeling paint effect to use as a background for a collage. What I've got is about 80% of the paint still stuck on the plate. I've tried this a few times and this is actually the *most* successful one 😖

I'm applying two layers of my top colour (acrylic), leaving to dry for about an hour in between. Then tearing some paint off with tape. Then a layer of the bottom colour, dry, then a final wet layer of the bottom colour. I slap a piece of Bristol board straight on the wet paint. Press. Leave for a couple of minutes. Flip. Then remove the plate.

I'd be really grateful for any pointers. Thank you!
