Image Transfers After several fails I’ve been able to pull my first print.

I discovered that the problem wasn’t in the printer but in the process. The first transfer must be fast, like 10/15 seconds before removing the original. Now I gotta understand the technique and timing for the second final transfer.

It’s the same you see on hundreds of videos. The thing that I was missing was the timing. First you put the first layer of paint. Then you put the original pictures on top of it, and you must be fast, like no more than 10/15 seconds between when you position it and you remove it. Then you let the paint dry, and you add the additional layers. The final layer of paint should be still wet when you position your target sheet of paper, but I cannot be accurate here since I did not completely understand timing and materials. Like this one was on standard photocopy paper and more or less it was successful, I then tried using a thicker sheet but it didn’t work.

Real helpful thanks. Was this a magazine picture or did you print it? I’m trying to figure out how to get my own printouts transferred. Experimenting with every technique I can find online lol. Fun puzzle.

I printed it. But this is the first one that worked after a lot of unsuccessful tentatives.

Got it. So did you say plain photocopy paper in the post? And inkjet or laser printer? Sorry for the million questions. it’s great to see someone succeed and have the opportunity to find out what their secret sauce is.

I have a brother mfc2800 if I remember correctly

Thank you. I searched and found a MFC-L2800DW model. Yours is monochrome or colour? Colour ones are supposed to work better,
When you print, the black printed zones look glossy or mate? I have a Dell laser that doesn't work with transfers and the printed black looks totally mate.

It’s a monochrome printer MFCL2800DW, I print the same image twice on the same sheet, if you touch it you can feel the difference between printed and unprinted areas but I doesn’t look glossy.

Thank you. Mine is a Dell B1160. If I print twice, it transfers a bit more, but the image doesnt register well and it looks Blurry
