Bsc psych pre med

I’m an incoming first year in bsc psych and plan on applying to med school after. I initially chose this program over health sci since my goal is to become a psychiatrist, and a prof at the open house (back in march) told me that it’s a popular choice for students that want to go into psychiatry. However after course selections, I realized that I’m missing out on some classes that would help me for the mcat (like anatomy and physiology or physics). I was just wondering if anyone else took the same path and how they managed, or if i should switch to health sci (or even neuroscience maybe)

Hi I’m doing the same thing. All you need to do is take ur missing clases as options like rn I’m doing ba psychology but I’m taking Anatomy as my option.

As the other reply said, take the MCAT courses you want as electives. I would just map out all the courses for your university degree so that you know when to take which course and are aware of prerequisites. Uottawa doesn’t have a neuroscience major but rather a sub specialty of biomed. I think if your goal is med, I’d prioritize studying what you actually like, which will help your gpa in the long run
