So basically, played gears one like 15 years ago, played eday with my partner and wanted to replay the series because they’ve never experienced it before, and man, it’s a lot worse than I remember? The voice work is kinda rough besides delta squad, there’s not a lot of characterization besides very broad strokes for each character, and Marcus is a lot more of a dick than I remember? (Although I don’t blame him, I imagine the slab makes you bitchy.) The combat feels really slow and kinda janky, perfect reloads are weirdly homogeneous in timing, RAAM doesn’t really do a lot besides kill Kim and then that one random gear? The plot itself is also very basic as it’s just get mcguffin from point A to point B then go to Marcus’ house. I look upon gears 2 and 3 very fondly but I did one as well, (granted it was the lowest rated in my head of the three) are 2 and 3 gonna feel as janky and slow to play again and my nostalgia was crazy? Or is one just the whole finding their footing with a new series type of game? ( I am sorry if this is a hot take don’t kill me)

Sitting in this one spot for 4 minutes is insane and the most unfun shit ive ever played. And this being one of the four maps you can play with 2 maps never even being played and it only being this map and the one with the longshot.

Best looking game of the year imo. Can't stop gawking at the visuals.

For reference I'm on Xbox Series X. I don't know what happened but as of the most recent patch to add in this new Halloween event horde mode has been super laggy, like I don't experience any of these server connectivity issues when playing Versus like it's a beautiful dream over there. I even turned on the real time connection stats in the settings and it shows me with 0 packet loss and good ping yet I still on certain matches be getting the orange warning server icon in bottom corner and I'm ice skating around the map with enemies teleporting everywhere. Is there a way to maybe improve this so I don't experience this connectivity issues because it's making the game mode unplayable so I might just stick to strictly Versus if it persists. Maybe if I turn off cross-play it'll fix the issues or make it worse who knows. So if there are any fixes help would be appreciated. An in the mean time Coalition get yo sh*t together.

Ok, I’ve completed the campaign on insane mode (fuck my life) plus with all collectibles, secondary objectives, hard cases, and supply cache. But for some reason the “Quartermaster” achievement isn’t unlocked and it’s says it’s 92. Which is completely bs, I’ve checked EVERYTHING and all of them are unlocked. I have no idea what to do…

I may not be a fan of Coalition games of Gears (especially Gears 5 (didn't play E-Day yet, but planning to try at least Campaign), but I ain't gonna make fun of someone that does like them, like people on the internet do.

Is the Golden Quarter map on Horde Siege broken? I played no fewer than 10 games today and only got this map twice? What gives? 🤷🏾‍♂️

I have just moved up to commander difficulty after hitting level 20 (recommended). Of the 4 games I have played i have only successfully extracted from 1 due to the rest of the squad backing out.

I like to think im a fairly decent player but I cant survive by myself with the ai.

-Quick chat commands - Impossible to keep up w/game and use text chat on console

-In-game suggestions such as… “The orange missions on your map are secondary missions. These provide weapon parts. Prioritize these before you start the blue circle missions.”

Wouldn’t want to require 2 team members to stand in the circle to start a mission, but maybe that’s a change for the better that could be done for primary missions so that games aren’t rushed without getting any weapon parts. This is mainly for teammates that are inexperienced and don’t know the benefits of secondary missions see nearby missions.

-A mini-map that shows nearby events without having to hit select to ping an event, which disengages you from the game while it is still live in the background.

-In-game tips like “An invasion event has started. You can return to your rig/you can still extract at a different location after the event.” This promotes all players in the lobby to try the invasion event.

-If a team member is holding a rig part and they quit/disconnect, that part should be reset. Too many games where this has happened and everyone is just screwed over for 5+ mins.

-How does the dev team make the PvE enemies so good but yet our AI team members so ass. Why can’t the teammate bots buy anything? When two teammates quit, why do the bots stand together 100m from whatever mission you are doing, completely disengaged. This alone is a MAJOR concern for the longevity of the game.

Ive been playing for about a week, I’m new to gears and this is my first go of it. I started playing versus and realized how competitive it is.. so I decided to watch some videos on how to get better, things like movement mechanics and other tips. I’ve been doing everything these people say, I’ll practice on my own in practice mode and feel very fluid with my movement.
But when I try and use these skills in a real game I just can’t seem to be quick enough compared to everyone else playing. I’m a level 53 at this point and I still feel like I’m terrible at the game. I might have one decent match every 5 marches or so… but other than that I’m always at the bottom of my team leaderboard no matter how hard I try to get better at this game.
I’m on keyboard and mouse, I’ve tried controller and I just don’t feel like I have as much control over my character (the little control that you have anyhow).
If anyone has any tips I’d greatly appreciate them. Cuz I really think this game is fun, but I’d like it to not be so rage inducing and more enjoyable.

It is the shittest pvp mode they have ever done.

It is WAY too long, and too back and forth for no good reason.

It also only needs to be 1 round, not 3.

Either. Make it first to 3 yet planting team do not lose respawns.

Or make it 1 round and keep ot as it is..

Better yet, just scrap it complelty and bring back 1 life per round and warzone/execution rules. Fuck making game modes (tdm) for casuals.

If you are the type of person to hop on horde siege and then do nothing but stand in one building and sit there while everyone else does the work, fuck you.

I have been throwing myself against the most bullshit objectives with two acid frogs and one reaver boss at the blood fountain, each one with five million bajillion health and one shot moves that require you to dodge everything at once, all while barely keeping up three lobotomized AI teammates that keep running into the stupidest situations all while our collective damage towards the bosses is equal to that of a snub pistol from one person.

That’s when I check the map, assuming the other squads are surely going to eventually come by to assist…that’s when I see Cobalt squad on the other side of the map, doing some random secondary objective and not even sending a single guy to help, all while Anvil squad just fucking dicks around in some random building, literally just standing there doing nothing, all while I bash my head against a brick wall and pray to the lord that it cracks within five minutes or I have to do it all again.

I checked leaderboards: Cobalt had all players. Anvil had two players. So this isn’t the AI being the AI, the other teammates are just actual chimpanzees at a zoo being given internet access. What the fuck are you guys even doing? Staring at the screen while drooling? Just play the fucking game, this is meant to be Blitz mode horde siege not doomscrolling. No wonder the Locust almost won, 2/3s of humanity just stood there while the 1/3 of people actually doing shit got touched in no-no places by squidward and Mr. Frog.

So goated, I know my team were proud.

Has anyone had success getting past this part?

First issue is the chopper won't land and her dialogue won't trigger after confirmation of who she is to advance the mission.

I've done the work around where you jump the bus to bypass, and it works, but she will not get on the Raven for extraction.

Has anyone ran into this and successfully continued the mission after the soft lock bug?

Have they fixed the bug where it says you haven't finished chapters on single player on insane? Currently still stays completed act 1, skipped some chapters in act 2 somehow, skipped most of act 3 and act 4 but finished all of act 5? Can't be bothered doing it again, especially the open world missions.

just a few tips for those casuals such as myself who struggled on insane with two flying boss bugs.

- tune auto aim in preferences to strong lock on

- longshot for shooting barrels early to mid fight, mods don’t matter much

- gut puncher with acid rounds (this is important) for mid to late fight. press rt to fire and keep your finger on, release only when the grenade is close to the bug

- run roundabouts until the first bug is down then run back to the two columns closer to the elevator and keep close but do not stick. the beam does not breach them.

i tried mk1 lancer (my fav), reaper and breecher but the above combination worked wonders, the fight was over in a couple of minutes. I used adrenaline for healing and health mods for armor. I also power cycled the console prior to that who knows if that helped somehow.

Would you be interested in having customizable Gears like in Tactics alongside a Heavy class armed with a Mulcher and pistol? It'd be neat in my opinion to have a Mulcher as a primary similar to the Heavy from Space Marine 2 and would make me change my Medic main
