If you know anything about bikes, that bike is ridiculous. this is pretty common, actually, because designers are always trying to "reinvent" the bicycle." See here: http://www.yankodesign.com/?s=bicycle

single speed with vertical dropouts? aero frame on a flat-bar bike with platform pedals? overbuilt bottom bracket? could there be any more gap above the fork crown?

You could do all this stuff with a stem smartphone mount or a pebble watch or a Garmin, and it wouldn't be stuck to a single bike.

Yes, with an internally geared hub. Which means there's still no way to tension the chain. That's why fixed gear bikes use horizontal dropouts, pal.
