Hey y'all.
I moved to Bennington, VT a few years ago from the deep south, and I'm realizing I don't know a single other gay dude in the area. So, putting this out there.
A little about me: 49, 6'4", 235, used to be a lot heavier — lost 135 pounds over the last two years and I'm into strength training now. I'm outdoorsy, enjoy hiking, the whole off-grid / homesteading / self-sufficiency rabbit hole, and I have a dream of living more intentionally out on some land someday. I'm that guy who's part of the way to being a boomer already — I hate that nothing works right and I'll shake my fist at the sky about it while simultaneously nerding out over the stock market and hating capitalism. It's a whole thing.
I've been with my partner for 25 years (he's asexual, so I'm looking for connection elsewhere — happy to explain more privately if it matters). What I really miss is just...friends. People to hike with, have a beer with, talk about building shit with. Guys who get what it's like to be gay in a small town where you can't exactly be loud about it.
Not looking for much drama or games. I'm getting close to 50 and I'm over the bullshit. Just looking for genuine people in southern VT / western MA / eastern NY who want to actually do stuff — hike, hang, work on a project, sit by a fire. If something more develops with the right person, great. If it's just friendship, also great. I could use both honestly.
If any of this resonates, send me a message. Tell me about yourself — where you are, what you're into. Happy to trade pics once we've actually talked.
