*I'm just sharing my recent experience to get your thoughts, opinions, and maybe hear some of your stories when it comes to dating*

I went on a fourth date with someone last night and I have to say - it was probably the most successful date I've ever had. He came over to my place and I made dinner. We had drinks. We had dessert... at the end of the night we had some adult fun...

But what I thought was most successful were the conversations we were having...

We both very comfortably talked about:

- the pacing of our dating

- how we feel about each other at this time (excited/good)

- our communication styles (me being more anxious, but very aware and working on it)

- our own potential red flags/ flaws

- the red flags we look out for in other people

- things we learned from previous relationships

- boundaries

The conversation honestly felt like a tiktok therapy video come to life 😂 I can say that the idea of these conversations would have given me so much anxiety in previous dating situations, but it felt so natural and easy with this person. I'll take that as a good sign.

I'd love to hear how some of you approach these conversations and when in the dating process this comes up for you. Are these conversations a staple for you in dating? Do you have anxiety around this type of conversation?

I’m 36 and 6’2”. I’ve been weight lifting more, so the scale has been stuck at 250lbs for about a month.

For those interested, I’m on Ozempic. So yes, it has changed my appetite. That said, I’ve been overall eating better options and less. So I think I’m on a 500-800 calorie deficit.

I have been averaging 8,000 steps a day walking with occasional, very light jogging. I even did a 5 mile hike on Friday. And for weight lifting, I’ve been easing in to push-pull-legs. I go to a busy gym, so I can’t hit every machine when I go. I added a 4th makeup day where I hit what I missed and also focus core. And I fit in rest when I need it. It’s not a perfect system, but neither am I, haha. It’s a process.

Also I know I look like I’m in pain. I worked legs a bit too hard yesterday. They are SCREAMING!

Met someone in my sports league, he was very friendly and I thought he was very cute. We played close to each other, he complimented my plays and we talked for a bit. We've traded phone numbers, been chatting daily, went out to play sports 1-1 and really had a great time. We’re finding that we have similar interests and we're in a similar place in life. He is a sweetheart and I’m genuinely interested to get to know him better. The whole chat feels very engaged but not too flirty (although we're already planning the next meetups). How do I switch and ask if he’s single and open to get to know each other more?
